What about Shemp??
Show some respect for an original Stooge.
What about Shemp??
I agree that McClain hasn't looked like he did last year yet, but I can't see any reason to complain about Lee's play. I hope he has the same kind of game against Philly that he did last time.
I think McClain needs to get benched the next game in favor of Hitchens. The DL isn't doing any favors for the LBs by any means, but McClain has looked out of position a lot. Hitchens seemed to have more of a nose for the RBs.
McClain looks so slow. He needs to be benched. The will line backer won't be effective when the Mike backer can't take on blockers and thus doesn't allow him to be unblocked. Hitchens is at least quicker and more agile right now and that's why I think he needs to be moved inside. Give Damien Wilson a shot at SAM.
So it really hasn't been what I expected so far. Lee has looked mortal since the concussion and really hasn't done anything of late. Ro looks like he's trying to still get in shape, and Hitch, well to be honest I have hardly seen him. I do know that he was replaced by Wilbur yesterday for some reason.
So the All 22 gang, arm chair QB's, whats the story on this awesome trio we expected?
If Hayden continues to draw one blocker that extra blocker will continue to meet up with our LBs

Hayden was getting handled by a single blocker last year, too, though. The interior of our D-line, coaching and LB core (well.. + Lee and minus Durant) remains the same as last year but we are simply getting gashed hard by the running game this year. I don't watch all-22, or profess to be knowledgeable about anything, but I *feel*, based off of last year's performances, that Hitchens seemed to play more sound run defense/gap discipline than McClain. Goal line, 4th down, just critical run downs, Hitchens showed up and anticipated the RB. In coverage or blitzing the QB, that's not Hitchens' forte, which might be a reason for riding the pine.
