Wow, thanks for the read Reality. They basically slipped it into the market to avoid blowback about adding another F2P model game combined with EA's declining rep. They let the gameplay speak for itself without the marketing aspect and seems like the community is loving it. Smart move on the developers part.

Edit: So they laid a foundation to market this game full throttle once announced. I just saw it pop up earlier in the week and now it's in all my suggested videos so def. see your point there.

I personally believe EA is behind that narrative. Meaning, EA knew of its reputation issues right now so they pushed narrative of "small developer bypasses big bad publisher's reputation issues to release amazing game".

I find it hard to believe that a game developer who has a contract with a large publisher like EA would have any legal ability to do anything that EA did not want done including posting a background story of its release.

Tried Apex Legends and thought it was ok, just another battle royale. Me and some friends usually have our hands full with Chinese hackers in PUB.

What is being hacked when you say that Johnny? I've seen that term and people mention it but was wondering what they do to actually interfere/cheat?

They told NFL 2k to hold their beer (albeit almost 20 years late). At least they learned something from that :D

Usually they have cheats/hacks which are
Aimbot=helps you aim your gun more quickly and accurately.
Wall hack=you can see/shoot through walls.
No recoil hack
Also have heard of another cheat that removes trees from the game making it easier to spot opponents.

Oh dang, that's more specific than I thought. Yeah I would be good at online FPS if I had such help too lol. Thanks for the info

Anyone play Apex Legends? That's all I'm seeing on youtube lately. Supposed to give Fortnite a run for its money? The game looks smoother and less cartoonish.

Played it. Like it. Took me a few rounds to understand the game and get comfortable with the controls. About 5-6 games in my brother and I won our round. I dig it. It is the same but different. They put some decent little twists in it for a Battle Royale game. There are micro-transactions in the game but they are all for stupid items like gun skins, etc. You can grind them out in the game anyway if you really feel like need.

The good thing about this game is that even though EA is technically behind it, they let Respawn have full control of the game. It was smart because I think EA would have screwed it up and made it much like Activision has with Call of Duty. Treyach is getting slammed HARD in the community right now for the way they've handled Black Ops 4. They required everybody that wanted additional content to purchase a Black Ops Pass up front, and at this point, they've hardly released jack squat 3-4 months into the game.

I think I'll give it a try tbh bc it looks addicting and haven't played FPS online in a good while. I'll shoot you a PM with my tag. I'm the type to never waste a dime on skins or superficial stuff; never understand the fascination/addiction with that. More companies need to give freedom bc these sequels are getting nauseating and the new IPs are just rehashes w diff titles. Let the nerds loose again

I've been an outsider hearing of Black Ops' issues with the fans but now understand that's more content based not releasing new maps n modes. That's some cruddy stuff there making you front the money or lose out on the pass and pretty dang cocky to say the least. Feels like some class lawsuit down the line.

Apex Legends has been pretty good. We've managed to win about 10 matches. There are some balancing things I think they'll take a look at like the scarcity of weapons and how much protection armor and shields give.

But who can complain for the low low price of free.

I have/had all of the MMOs in your photo including the expansions you have as well as collector's editions of several of them.

I have given, donated or thrown away at least 200 physical PC games in the last year. I still have around 50 physical games but most of them I have taken out of the box to use less space.

Thrown away 200? Hope they weren't any rare/valuable titles.:lmao2:
Before you throw away the next batch i'll pm you my mailing address lol

Most if not all of these have been/or are available through a digital download thru Steam or the particular games website. Nice to see one other person that has played Vanguard:clap:

I was a big EverQuest 1 and 2 fan so of course I bought Vanguard .. I even bought the collector's edition of it :D

I was very much against digital games for years and would always buy physical copies even when you could get the digital games faster or cheaper. Then one day I realized just how many games I had and how much space they were taking up and I started rethinking my stance on them. The clincher for me though was when some of the older games stopped working on newer Windows releases while digital versions had been updated and patched to work on them.

I am not a Steam fan because of their requirement to both run the Steam client and, more importantly, to be connected to the internet to play their games. I've been re-buying a lot of the games I no longer have on GOG when available and on sale.

Look familiar?

Not a huge fan of Steam but it is a necessary evil, have about 15 games in my GOG library and hopefully their selection of games continues to grow.

Just looked at the EQ2 box and there are around 10 install disks lol, what a pita that was. Then you have to d/o any patches/etc with a more than likely at the time slow connection. Shame about what happened to Vanguard though, only played a couple of months but I really liked it.

You would be amazed at the number of maps I still have :D

I kept every map, whether paper, poster or even material from every game I have ever owned. I have two giant bags filled with maps from dozens of games *laughs*

I was thinking it would be funny one day to have a "map" room with all of them framed on the wall just to see the puzzled look on everyone's face who saw them while they were trying to figure out where any of them were in the world. :D

I'm getting this way on my consoles. It's just so much more convenient, especially if you are game sharing with a friend (I am).

Also, I was happy to find software updates for my Simcity games to work with Win 10 last year. I was stoked. I've always been a Simcity fanatic (Simcity 3000 was the best imo). My physical copies I own are otherwise useless.
