Yes.

And Im sure there will also be a hat involved

Haha, count me out.
Have maybe 50 hours total in the game and just cant get into it. Seems most of it not all MMO's these days have a cash shop/crown store/etc to nickle and dime the customers. Even one of my favorite MMO's, LOTRO has a cash shop which is a ultimate no go for me. Don't mind paying for expansions, even 15 bucks a month but draining every nickle from Joe A Consumer has gone way to far.
Maybe I will wait for WOW classic server in a few months or Pantheon Rise of the Fallen.

I am hopeful that Pantheon will turn out to be the great "return to old school" MMO that it promotes itself to be, but it is hard to be optimistic with game companies these days. It seems like most of them are more worried about over-monetizing rather than making and expanding great games.

I was going to give WoW another shot but they completely changed leveling from a fun adventure to a major grind session when they implemented their level scaling patch and I neither enjoy nor have time for that kind of time sink any more.

I really enjoy MMOs but all of them either ask for or require money constantly or they seem like they are on their last leg. The few older MMOs that do not push micro-transactions and cash shops on you are so old that starting them as a new player now is either impossible or an overwhelming process.

I remember talking to you about Pantheon/etc a couple of years ago and here we are, still waiting on at least a beta something solid to look forward to and play but lo and behold nothing. They and others are moving at a snails pace it seems. LOTRO opened 2 legendary/fresh start servers a couple months ago which capped everything at the base game and slowed down the XP rate for 15 a month sub, I played for 1 month and got tired of looking at the cash shop and quit.
I have watched some people play on the WOW classic server which will be open in June and it was impressive. Adventuring looked fun and very dangerous again.

This is absolutely the truth. It has really changed the gaming industry. While I may be guilty of buying something cheap here or there, I absolutely refuse to get on this train. Activision is destroying the Call of Duty franchise in this way.

Though, some developers are better than others. Turn 10, creators of the Forza Racing Series for Microsoft, introduced prize crates (surprise, surprise) in Forza 7. The community push back was so loud that they actually took those out of the game entirely. I was impressed by that.

I have not paid $40 or more for a game for a while now. I mainly have been buying digital versions of old school games that I owned in the past but got rid of when they are deeply discounted on GOG. I have bought a few recent games as well but I wait until they go on sale. I plan to travel a lot this year so having those DRM-free games will be handy especially when internet access is sporadic.

Some European countries have already created or are in the process of creating laws against "loot boxes" in games because they are a form of gambling and there are a lot of younger kids buying them.

I wouldn't mind doing that either. I heard Microsoft is kicking around the idea of a program where you can exchange your physical disc games for digital. I'd be interested in that. It really is much more convenient. I used to like physical copies for resale value but it seems like games just loose value so much anymore it's hardly worth it. I have some games I paid $60 new and now I can hardly get $5 for them. Hardly worth the fuel.

Also, I wouldn't shed a tear if loot boxes got axed. :D

Yep, a lot of kids today have been groomed to think loot boxes/DLC/episodes are the norm. They have no clue what came before so they don't know any better. I love gaming{especially PC} but I miss the old days, they were indeed much better.

Haven't really played anything seriously since I was competitive in Counter-Strike like 12 years ago. I played some "Last of Us", that was a pretty awesome game.

Building a new PC when the new AMDs come out though, will play through Witcher 3, Fallout. Did some research into games coming out this year on PC, Anthem looks cool (Bioware). Skull & Bones looks pretty sweet, the new Doom. Cyberpunk whenever it does come out.

I was a big fan of Tony Hawk & Motocross back in the day, Trials + Sessions look fun with some good graphics. Hope there's a good winter games/snowboarding game that comes out.

Looks like there's a pretty solid slate of pc stuff for 2019.

Cyberpunk 2077 officially became a release day purchase for me after I watched that 48-minute walk-through video back in August. Hopefully they'll announce a release date sometime in the near future.
Supposed to be sometime this year right?

Did you play any ofbthe Witcher series?

In an investor call in early 2016 it was suggested that Cyberpunk 2077 would be released before June 2019. It was also said in this call that CD Projekt Red is planning to release two new triple A RPGs before 2021.

It was later clarified in forums that Cyberpunk 2077 would be the first of these games to arrive and work on the second would not start before Cyberpunk 2077 was finished.

Considering The Witcher 3 took around three and a half years to develop, a 2019 release doesn’t seem unmanageable for the studio.
