Downloading the digital deluxe Resident Evil Requiem on PS5. Playing it at 10.

Nothing like a RE game playing at night pitch black on a big screen with some dope headphones. Can't wait.

I have never played a RE game. Is there one I should play first before requiem?

The remakes are exceptional. As a huge fan of the originals, they really recapture the magic

2 and 4 are the best. But they are all excellent

I’ve only played one Resident Evil game, Resident Evil 7, and I played the entire thing in VR. It was a trip. lol

8 was alright imo. This one is great.

I was just about to post the same thing.

I read the Sony announcement dropping support for single-player PC games and then a few minutes later saw the Xbox announcement saying it would play PC games.

Freaking younger generation and their social media and online everything! Back in my day, we popped the cartridge in and enjoyed that sucker solo. We couldn't save the game! All we could do was write down 37 digit codes that got us back to a similar spot.

And we liked it!

Seriously though, I think any financed game now comes with some type of online mode, even if it doesn't really need it. This will probably only affect the indy Steam types? I still can't find on PSN Store some of the slow burn strategy games I usually like on the PC. Sometimes find them through the Apple App Store though.

Yeah 4x games are hard to do on console with the UI and having to use a controller. Love them though. My Steam and GOG library are full of them.

Oh yeah, I remember always writing down the code on Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! (still one of my all-time favorite games). Kids these days have no idea how hard games were back in the day. There were hardly any save points, limited lives, and the games were tough. The only cheat codes you got were the ones passed around through the grapevine at school. The one kid on the block who got the Nintendo Power magazine suddenly became the most popular kid when a new issue arrived. lol

Today there are save points every other second, tons of difficulty options, endless lives, lots of cheats, maps, FAQs, and walkthroughs instantly available thanks to the internet.

I know it’s my nostalgia talking, but there was something special about that era.

I was bored the other night, so I pulled out the Nintendo Switch and fired up the original Super Mario Bros. I was surprised at how short the levels were. It's funny how you don’t remember that from being a kid. I ended up beating the entire game in one sitting. I didn’t use any of the world skips, just a straight play-through. It was very nostalgic.

I still have an unopened first gen OLED/white Switch I bought on a whim years ago when they came out.

I just happened to walk by them in Target as people were swarming around the guy opening the crates grabbing them before they even hit the shelves.

I think about setting it up every so often but haven't played Nintendo games since the Nintendo 64 days (which I still own as well).

Any Nintendo-exclusive games you recommend that will run well on that version of the Switch? Obviously Super Mario and the Zelda games, but what else?

They have a Nintendo and Super Nintendo official emulator “app” on there you can download for free (but you have to sign up for their yearly $20 subscription), and those apps come preloaded with some classic games. While they do have some of the basic classics, the rest of the games feel pretty random, and there aren’t nearly as many titles as I think there should be....or as many as they could realistically add.

They’ve also added apps for N64, Genesis, Game Boy, and I believe even GameCube, but of course those require the more expensive tier.

Now, there might be a way to sideload classic Nintendo games onto the Switch, but I haven’t gone down that rabbit hole to see if that’s actually possible.
