Yeah. I definitely got a Governor type vibe rolling off of Rick but not in a malicious sort of way, if that makes any sense.

I think it is more likely that Negan and his group show up wanting to take what that community has like they probably did to Noah's community.

I doubt it. She's intelligent and knows her son can learn a lot from Rick and his group. What I think may happen to divide the co-habitation is a power struggle over control for the community, whether true or imagined. Both Deanna and Rick are strong-willed, sane realists in my opinion (although Rick can go borderline nuts on cue). Should prove to be an interesting dynamic between the two of them.

Well we know this situation... picture perfect community isn't going to last. Live & dead could both be a threat.

And I've been wondering all this time if they introduce Negan how they'd play Rick. Cause in the comic when Negan is introduced Rick isn't nearly where he is at mentality as he is now.

So I've been wondering how it's going to play out but with the way they talked so much about that community making them soft last night I think that's what's going to happen. Rick is going to slide into more comfortable, and he's going to see that way of life as needed for Carl and Judith, and it's going to make him more willing to allow things that right now, as we stand, I don't believe Rick would even remotely allow Negan to do any of things he does.

So I can see this community being one of those things where we see them all, or most of them, start to love it and become to complacent and soft after a long, easy, time there. Which leads to the introduction of Negan and the next big evil that will make them realize that the world is still just as bad, and awful, as it always was and they've tried to forget.

Well the thing is if they keep him more true to the comic he will be there to take stuff from them, as payment, for protection from the outside and another near by community in which they wind up feuding with.

Negan and his crew don't go there to just take the place.
 
So is Enid a spy for Negan's group (or another)? They said she's been there 3 months and Carl spotted her sneaking out. She did come back. Maybe she was letting them know that Rick's tougher looking group showed up.

I think they're setting it up for a rabid dog fight between Rick and Negan over the prize. Rick will start that process of getting emotionally invested in the community. He'll have to smash a couple of nails in order to do so, but he'll get invested and get them toughened up to some extent...just in time to see it all threatened from the outside. Then you get bad mad dog v. good mad dog for the future of the community and Rick's own family.

Right now, we're just seeing it dawn on the group that the community is too good to be believed, but too soft to be protected long-term. They know they're going to have to crack some eggs (and we can already see at least two of those eggs). The only question is how many need to be cracked in order to make the omelette.

And I didn't get the sinister vibe from Deanna at all. I haven't read the comic (and have been trying to stay away from them), but she seemed sympathetic to me. Like she knew what she needed for the betterment of her group and was glad (albeit nervous) that she might have found it in Rick and company.
 
You know how they pay tribute to "those we lost" on Talking Dead every week? And the names they give the walkers? I totally called "Father and son bonding walkers" right when I saw that part :laugh:
 
Somebody took Rick's stashed weapon from the coffee pot... Alexandria is just too good to be true. And Daryl refuses to bathe.
 
I have a feeling Morgan is going to enter the picture in the near future. Havent seen hm since the beginning of the season.

seriously, I do think there will come a time soon where ricks group is about to get taken to task and morgan comes in just in time to save the day.

overall, this just seems too familiar to me. change some names, tell a different story from the same town...

just hard to get into whatever is next cause take out the names, it all seems the same to me at this point.

daryl seems to be going rogue at this point and rick as well. if anything hopefully this little stop in mock-naugahide paradise will let them collect their thoughts and deal with what has happened and get back together.

I didn't recognize rick after shaving at first. strange days.
 
Sounds like there's a-gunna be a tussle between Rick and the husband. Lol at Daryl killing the possum as a first impression and then gutting it on the front porch. Darryl's pretty much a feral cat with a crossbow at this point.

After marathoning Game of Thrones this past weekend, there's such a massive difference as to how well that show develops characters–even minor ones–and this show doesn't. I guess Carl, just by virtue of him growing up. Sasha somewhat. But Gabriel, Noah, Rosita, Abraham, Eugene, and Tara seem to only have been created for their particular 1-3 episode arc. They no longer serve a purpose outside of background scenery.

nah, they'll all get killed when they run low on character development ideas.
 
2nd episode in a row where I haven't seen hide nor hair of the priest guy. Seriously - what happened to him? I must have missed something.

he's in the outhouse wrestling with guilt. he'll be back in 3-4 seasons.

I think the last episode of the season is when Morgan will appear.
