I've been in the category of "It's foolish to invest money in a backup quarterback." If your starter is out for three games, then you hand the ball off and go 1-2 or 2-1. If he's in there more than that, your season is done and you don't want a decent player to ruin your draft position.

At least Weeden isn't ruining our draft position. Yet.

Why is Weeden even on ANY NFL roster much less our Dallas Cowboys????? Everyone gives Garrett credit for roster moves so I guess this huge mistake falls on him.

yep he truly sucks. check down after check down. hes just bad. he locks in on his number 1 read, if thats not open he either dumps it off for 3-4 yards or gets sacked.

This line has been garbage this year. Do you actually watch the games?

Weeden at quarterback would make the Great Wall of Dallas look bad.

What do you expect them to do against 8 and 9 man fronts?

I've been critical of them, but it's evident to me their struggles are mostly due to the ineptness at quarterback, on the offensive staff, and not having Dez to take away two and three defenders from the box.

Leary and Free need to be benched too.

You've just confirmed that you know nothing about football, or competition in general.

The probabilities for kicking v. TDs and 1 point v. 2 points aren't part of a game plan. I have no idea what you're talking about. As for the rest of your slippery slope, that makes no sense, either.

Its a combination of Dez and Romo that prevents teams from stacking the box. I still think we lose the last few games with Dez in there because Weeden doesn't have the touch nor accuracy to scare anyone. We do know one thing for sure, Dez will not prevent an 8 man box on 1st down, everyone knows we're running.

The sad thing is that when Romo gets back we'll win just enough games to completely screw our draft position but yet not enough to make the playoffs.

There will be many here on the board who will get excited about the team's finish, the natural "what if.." threads and it'll be deja vu all over again come next season where we're yet again one Romo injury away from a wasted season.

The Weeden experiment is officially over and its time to draft a QB next year.

Thread should be about the people who decided to bring him back after not learning our lesson in the Arizona game last year. Total incompetency from this organization

yep we could have done better with moore or showers, but also it is the stale playbook and game plans.

No doubt Weeden has sucked and needs to be put on the bench. However, our receivers suck as well. They can't get open and drop too many passes. Injuries have just neutered the team. Why iscEscobar not being used? Why does Michael get ONE freaking carry a game? Stupid coaching as well as poor play.

"Arizona had a once in a century defense, it forced Weeden to check down. That was a one off, not to be repeated. You people are internet GM's."

LOL, this is the exact response I got from some folks when I made a thread about this bum in the offseason.

LOL, the decision to go for a FG at the 5 yrd line down by 17 in the 3rd quarter can't be found on any scoring decision matrix. You can't justify it and neither can Jason.

Jason's game plan to not get too personally embarrassed with potential pick 6's on "his side of the ball" at the expense of ever having a chance to win, was exemplified by his cowardly approach on that field goal.

Perhaps he thought that by signaling to the Pats that he had no intention of pulling within 10 points, NE might not run up the score too much and he could walk away with another one of his moral victories. Whoops.

You're stretching because you realize you didn't know what you were talking about earlier. Got it.

And a lot of coaches make it a two possession game there with time remaining, so you're wrong about that, too.
