A popular opinion on this board is that WR is one of our biggest needs going into next season, but I disagree. This game just confirmed what I already thought - the trio of Beasley, Butler, and T-Will is good enough to get by.

Dez likely hangs onto that back fade thrown to Butler in the endzone to put this game on ice, and that's why he makes the big bucks.

But Butler showed a lot of good things today. He consistently got a clean release (a critical trait for outside WR's), gets separation at the end of his routes (his TD), and showed a large catch radius. We all know how stupid the taunting penalty was, but I think everyone is forgetting just how sick the actual catch he made before the penalty was. He climbed the ladder and looked every bit of the 6'3" athlete he is.

T-Will was open all game. Should've had a bigger day on the stat sheet, but Dak's accuracy rolling to his right was shaky.

Beasley is Beasley. One of the best slot WR's in the game and predictably got more attention today from the defense with Dez out.

Dak wasn't out there taking coverage sacks left and right. As well as he played, he actually left some big plays out on the field today. The way this trio got open today should give us confidence that the passing game will be alright while Dez takes his time rehabbing.
I don't want WRs that are just good enough to get by. I have higher expectations and you should too. Just good enough to get by
will lose some winnable games.

I never said I prefer Butler over Dez. We won with "stupid" players, as you call them, and a win is a win. Maybe you would be happier if we lost so you could really unload on the Cowboys.

The thread title is "The Wide Receivers minus Dez". The OP raises the question of whether our WRs are good enough to play without Dez. Some have voiced their
opinion that we do not need Dez and because we won today they think they're right....... Try to keep up!

I gave an opinion, which is my right. I didn't make a snide remark. You did. I've coached and played the WR position as well as others. I'm very happy to get the win today.
We have to clean up some things. Maybe someone should explain to Lance Dunbar how to down the football, for instance. Back to WRs, if you can't see that TWill and Butler
are not smart players, well, sorry but you're not a smart fan. And that's okay. You're entitled to the "ignorance is bliss" way of thinking.

I can guarantee that a good coach will grade Butler poorly today. Two specific drops that could've helped seal the game - the 3rd down drop and the TD drop - were both
accurately thrown and should've been caught. The taunting penalty alone could've cost us the game. Now, a good player will improve upon his performance instead of watching
his TD highlight over and over.

I feel as though I gave you more time than you deserved. I gave an opinion and you made it personal. That makes you weak and shallow.

Butler needs more playing time. I'd like to see him running the deep post more. This offense doesn't do enough to threaten the deep middle of the the field. He has the size and speed to be used in that way.

The offense is for real, and the running game won't be stopped by a normal team on the schedule. Time of possession will be a great potion for the developing defense.

Turn overs anyone? Dallas is winning there as well...
