A popular opinion on this board is that WR is one of our biggest needs going into next season, but I disagree. This game just confirmed what I already thought - the trio of Beasley, Butler, and T-Will is good enough to get by.

Dez likely hangs onto that back fade thrown to Butler in the endzone to put this game on ice, and that's why he makes the big bucks.

But Butler showed a lot of good things today. He consistently got a clean release (a critical trait for outside WR's), gets separation at the end of his routes (his TD), and showed a large catch radius. We all know how stupid the taunting penalty was, but I think everyone is forgetting just how sick the actual catch he made before the penalty was. He climbed the ladder and looked every bit of the 6'3" athlete he is.

T-Will was open all game. Should've had a bigger day on the stat sheet, but Dak's accuracy rolling to his right was shaky.

Beasley is Beasley. One of the best slot WR's in the game and predictably got more attention today from the defense with Dez out.

Dak wasn't out there taking coverage sacks left and right. As well as he played, he actually left some big plays out on the field today. The way this trio got open today should give us confidence that the passing game will be alright while Dez takes his time rehabbing.

ITS SAN FRAN. they arent exactly top notch. Lets wait til another good D comes around to put us back on Earth.

Their defense didn't look bad. That 4th round corner from LSU looked real good.

IF a Laquan Treadwell falls like he did this year to you? I think it depends on what defender is there. Are you going to reach for a lineman or get the best player there?

I think Butler can replace T-Will and we will be fine at WR

I was overall pleased with Butler. Except that one he could have fought more for toward the end for,a TD. However I need to look at it more. As it could have been jist a good play on dresses. Maybe if it was thrown a bit higher for him to go up and get.
TWill again, made some very key catches.

They took Robinson, who I liked btw, 2 picks ahead of Dak. He would be close to perfect for that offense.

Butler and williams have no contract. this is their final year. We need wr. Also escolar's final year, not that its a big deal since he has essentially been benched.

yes, i take what the team needs when its this bad. BPA wont help you , do you think we draft another RB next year because hes BPA, and risk lynching? no, you take what you need to win games. 3 great RBs arent helping when you barely use 2.

Correct on the first paragraph. Cowboys fans want new wides, but don't account the time it would take to develop them to be at Williams level.

Yeah I know. This is two weeks in a row we faced teams who drafted other guys before Dak in that 4th round. I think the Bears drafted 3 guys in that 4th before him if i'm not mistaken.

Wide Receiver is the most grossly over rated and overpaid position in Football. WR's are the by product of far more important elements of any offense. They look great on the highlight reel and thats all. If not for the OL and the left Tackle in particular and the RB..TE and of course the QB and just as importantly the play calling the ball would never reach the sizzle player or the highlight reel. The last game proved the real value of Dez Bryant. The club won...easily without the dramatic and distracting Bryant and the road ahead is much smoother without this guy. Sizzle sells...but the substance of defense wins when it really counts.
