in no, particular order
A.) wrong offensive system...
Romo is a guy with a very, quick release, I remember Parcells' last year here, before Romo was entered in for Drew Bledsoe, how in the offseason, when they brought out the stop-watch, Romo was consistently getting the ball off around 3 seconds, while they had to hurry Drew Bledsoe
this system calls for alot of 5 step drops, waiting on long, developing pass routes, and barely any quick throws like slants
which brings me to
B.) his pointer finger...
this offense calls for a lot of touch passes, because timing is involved in every throw, I think Romo's finger is hindering his ability to make touch throws, as he can't get a good grip on the ball
C.) sloppy mechanics...
he throws off his back foot a lot, that leads to a lot of balls sailing
D.) tunnel vision...
I had it in basketball, my coach was constantly getting on me when I brought the ball up the court, where I would be so focused on getting to the basket, or getting the ball to the post, that I would miss a lot of open guys on the wing
seems Romo likes to zone in on certain receivers, and forgets to scan the field
E.) happy feet...
Romo has it in bunches, I think it's affecting the touch he puts on his throws, that if he took an extra half-second, or slowed his body just a little bit, he would be more accurate
I don't think ability has anything to do with his struggles at all, he's a supreme athlete, NBA baller Caron Butler raved about his basketball skills
I don't want to say he's stupid either, Bill Parcells said he is a very, bright guy
I think the solution is completely revamping the whole, offensive system:
more roll outs, more bootlegs, more running the football (even if it's not successful, hell, it seems like Red is looking for any excuse to start flinging the ball), more play action, more slants, more drag routes, take advantage of what Romo does best, which is get the football out there quickly, and have the D go one way, while he goes another with the football.
