There Is No Scenario Where Dak, CeeDee, And Micah All Get New Deals With Cowboys

5-1 Cooper Rush? Nah.

The Lance PR campaign is in full motion. I wonder what good news about Lance we’ll hear next?
So you're going to pay CeeDee 34M+ only to have a 3rd string scrub as his QB? Yea, that makes sense.

There is no way to fill out the roster if you have the highest paid player ever (Dak), the highest paid defensive player ever (Parsons), and the highest paid non-QB ever (Lamb).

Thats like 50% of the cap on 3 players. It’s unrealistic to think all 3 get signed by us.
No chance it'll be 50% of the cap. Lets assume Dak cost $60M, Lamb 35, Parsons 35. That's $130M total per year. Assuming the cap continues growth around it's current pace you're looking at a $300M+ cap by 2026. All of these deals are going to be backloaded in relation to the cap, all of them will have void years attached to spread out the cap figure longer than their deals, and all of these deals will have around 30% less guaranteed money than the total value of the contracts.

From a strategic standpoint I'm not saying you're wrong, I think it's a good idea to try and move on from one of these three and ideally gain some draft capital in the process, but the math absolutely checks out that this is a realistic possibility to bring all three back.

All they have accomplished for the Star demands for all of them to be paid with top-of-top contracts in all 3 positions!!!!
Now how's 40 years without an NFCCG appeal to you Cowboy fans?

Micah will be the highest paid defensive player ever.

CeeDee will want more than Jefferson who just became the highest paid non-QB ever.

Dak will want to be the highest paid player ever.

That would be the highest paid ever at defense and offense PLUS the highest paid non-QB ever all on the same team.

No. Chance.

Then dont sign Dak because he is the worst player of the 3. CeeDee & Parsons are top 5 players in the NFL in their positions. Dak isnt top 10.

You can. Long deals with lots of guaranteed cash and cheap early years for a couple and the other more early salary cap hits and less in the future. It’s all about structure. Whether it’s the best move is a question but it can be done
Exactly.

Saying “there is no scenario” in which Cedee, MP and Dak don’t all three get deals is just an opinion, which on an opinion forum is fine of course. But it cannot be said that is a fact.

Just for the record I’m neither a “Dak hater” nor a huge “Dak fan”. I’m a Cowboys fan and if a guy named Joe Nobody is a better QB than what we currently have I’m all for it. I know there are very strong opinions on our starting QB and that’s all part of this ongoing discussion. Always been that way.

If moving on from Dak means we get better, I’m all for it. I might even support that if a trade could produce something better or even a higher draft pick or even releasing him at the end of this year. But this front office has two very bad habits that give me low confidence:
  • They usually lock on to a QB even after their time is up and they are unable to put the right kind of support around that QB (see Romo and Dak- Both good QBs that were/are incapable of carrying a team on their own)
  • They have drafted one QB in round one and that was when Jimmy was here. And drafting a young stud QB is at best a 25-40% chance of hitting a home run. Of course you can’t get a great QB if you don’t try.
If I were to make a strong prediction, it will be this- this FO signs all 3, whether or not that’s what’s best for this team or not. Let‘s face it, these guys have yet to show they know how to build a championship roster in the cap era and their management of the cap is not great.

Me personally I’m trading Dak and CeeDee, get bigtime picks now and roll with Lance this year. Cowboys suck we will be picking a qb in 2025.

It all boils down to salary cap burden commensurate with production.....including PLAYOFF production.

To say one or more of these 3 don't quite live up to the infamous Cowboy second contract curse of overpayment for decreased production would not be a stretch.

It's prolly a good bet one of em coasts and more resembles the Tank and Zeke model of 2nd contracts unfortunately.

So funny to read the comments about what Dallas can do or going to do. None of this is anything we fans know. Dallas could get all 3 done tomorrow if all 3 agreed to deals. Unless anyone knows exactly what the structure of the contracts, it is all just a guessing game.

About the only thing we can be fairly sure of is that Lamb is going to be a 4 year deal around $140 million with $110 million guaranteed.

As to Dak and Micah, just keep guessing because that is all we have. Just IMO, we sign Lamb this week and Dak before training camp and Micah sometime during the season.

Concerning the 2025 cap, the 65 million that the Cowboys have next year already have the dead money of Gallup and $40 million of Dak dead money in the calculations.

I think the offseason has been centered around a plan to TRY to sign all three. I don't think it's the smart thing to do, but then again I'm from the "you can't have steak at every position" school. From a dollars and cents perspective, ideally it would be the QB we could move on from but where's the contingency plan if Dak was to be the odd man out? I know we're pushing Lance for president at the OTA's, as if the order came from up on high, but that's such a gamble.

The Jones' failure in planning has really created quite the Sophies Choice. Pay all three and move forward with a supporting cast of castaways and Waletzko types (I know, extreme example but just making a point), or jettison one a lose a key piece of past regular season successes? Either way, I fear we missed our window for a period. Just hope that period isn't too long.

There is no “reality” where one team has the highest paid offensive and defensive players of all time AND the highest paid non-QB of all time.
Reality is the cowboys normally pay the players they love.

We get it. You do not like dak so no matter what you say that will slant your view on it.

Reality is not what you WANT it to be, It is what it is.

Dak was the highest QB in NFL, until he was not. He might be again until he is not.

CeeDee will be one of the top paid WRs in the league, until he is not.

Micah will be one of the top paid Defensive players in the league, until he is not.

They went even cheaper than normal this offseason for a reason.

You can ignore it and live in denial if you want. But just because you hate Dak does not mean the Jones boys do.

Do you think all 3 will take fair contracts to help the team?
Nope if they want to sign all 3 they will it's simple. Yall be looking at the OVERALL pay and not the actuals!. If it's 1 team in these league I trust at making these contracts work for them it's Dallas

We’ll see.

Thats the beauty in this situation.

We do not have to wait and see to know that this whole...there is no scenario...line is just not true.
There are scenarios, whether you like it or not, whether it is best for the team or not.

And that avatar you have might be the most punchable avatar of all time on this forum. That guy is such a whiney looking turd.
