Could we all as well, been taking Pollard a little too much for granted?

The 128th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft is coming off his first Pro Bowl season with the Cowboys in 2022. He was a Top 10 running back in the league last season and is expected to be so once again in 2023. His explosiveness and versatility as both a runner and receiver makes him one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the league. He should be even better this season as the Cowboys new RB1.

The only issue is he back fully from the injury ? Also he was never a bell cow , so will need a complimentary back , if its a power back its a plus as could be used in Goal line and short yardage situations , if it is one yard , let dak earn his pay check ( Hurts model )

Big Mac is a fullback kind of guy, the FA hunter looks interesting but can he perform in NFL level ?

That view is a valid one...I'm rooting for him as a star now, and any man can just take it on a physical level.

TonyP and RJones (RB2) career stats are close.

I think Vaughn fights for the RB3 job.

All the backs after RB2 are scrubs.

Especially with the freak injury to Tony, who is on a one year tag.

The Zeke cap hit and Pollards tag$$$ locked us into this mess.

Will Pollard produce the same efficiency and compile a similar clip of explosive runs with a significantly increased workload?

It's anyone's guess, really, but fans aren't totally off-base wondering if Pollard could wear down or show fatigue by the end of the season.

While Davis is battling to win the backup job behind Pollard, he received the majority of first-team reps this offseason as Pollard works his way back from tight-rope ankle surgery. Pollard has been present at practice, but Dallas is wisely managing his workload in hope that he'll be fully unleashed at training camp.

Davis' performance has caught the eye of one Mike McCarthy. What that in mind, the Cowboys really need a RB2 to emerge by the end of training camp. It appears to be an open competition, but the latest buzz post OTAs and minicamp indicates Malik Davis is the favorite to win the job.

I believe in Malik Davis and comfortable with him at RB2...and then add the Duece and that is not too shabby.

Dammm. Maybe if Zeke lowers his asking price and takes the no. 2 Spot, he wont be so beat up that he plays better.

Yeah, Rico Dowdle and Malik Davis will be just fine behind our great OL

Let’s trade Pollard

The sheer stupidity on this board is difficult to fathom sometimes

Yes, actually.

I'd have not franchised Pollard.

RBs hardly matter. Don't believe me....why are Jacobs and Barkley having trouble securing a bag? Why was Dalvin Cook and Zeke cut?

Well I agree with most of that you still have to have a good one I think them letting go Schultz and moving on from Connor McGovern and other players, I think they needed to keep Tony Pollard because they don't know what they got coming up but you're right the tag is killing the running back position because I think they would have been better to sign him to a two year $12 million deal it would have freed up money but I don't think they knew going in that they're running back market was going to end up being $6 million for a starter because other teams got fooled into it too the other guys who got tagged where Tony Pollard and Barkley and others and they we're also offered it so it's not like the Cowboys we're doing anything different

but I'm not worried about the depth and the players we brought in in the offseason and the draft I think we're gonna be just fine I think one of them might end up being Tony Pollard 's replacement for next year plus we can draft another one next year
