My guess is that these are the only players that are almost certain to be selected in the first round.
i dont think there is any "almost" to it which is why there are only 17 of them...they are certain these players will be picked

I'll be honest, there isn't anyone in the bottom third of the 1st round that really excites me. Not keen at all on a RB, TE or WR in the first (and these three positions could be the best "value" at pick 26).

JMO, but I think trading down to the first 5 or 10 positions in the 2nd round (and acquiring an additional 3rd round pick) offers a lot of value and options.

You could easily come out of rounds 2 and 3 with a top rated OG or T, DT and perhaps a RB
i love it...also would like to see them have picks at the top of the 2nd and 4th...sounds like those are going to be very highly coveted this year

The rest of the players get to stay in their safe spaces and avoid getting their feelings hurt.

The last guy to be drafted in the room will probably still be traumatized.

My wife's friend is Jackson Smith-Njigba's mother, and they're definitely going to KC for the draft. That's crazy so few players were invited. Isn't always MUCH, MUCH more?
Hey uhh Jerry Jones, Deion Sanders and Warren Sapp just had breakfast with me

Here's the list:

  • USC WR Jordan Addison
  • Alabama EDGE Will Anderson
  • Alabama S Brian Branch
  • Georgia DT Jalen Carter
  • Boston College WR Zay Flowers
  • Oregon CB Christian Gonzalez
  • Ohio State OT Paris Johnson
  • Kentucky QB Will Levis
  • Penn State CB Joey Porter Jr.
  • Florida QB Anthony Richardson
  • Texas RB Bijan Robinson
  • Ohio State WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba
  • Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud
  • Georgia Tech DL Keion White
  • Texas Tech EDGE Tyree Wilson
  • Illinois CB Devon Witherspoon
  • Alabama QB Bryce Young

You think Cowboys have a shot at anyone here? I've seen Witherspoon and Joey Porter go to us in some mock drafts.....I'd like to think Branch may have a shot but hope not.
so let me get this straight, the draft is about players and fans, they charge fans to get in and for I'm betting expensive concessions etc but then they only invite 17 players? in a draft first round, 32 teams that a possible 64 players minimum being considered , 17 that if. Seems like a rip off. i guess its no surprise given the Pro bowl is now joke and playing flag ball and now they build this draft experience up but he biggest part of the show arent invited?

why?

I don't watch anyway..i just look for the app notification from BR, twitter and other sources that show it in Realtime then go check and refresh pick list and then when we are on the clock go pay attention.

because TV makes a lot more money than the inperson events do and they are focusing on that specific product - they clearly feel the negativity of a player slipping is detracting from the viewing experience. Pretty simple honestly, they are trying to make it about the story lines of the picks and not the story line of the player(s) that dont get drafted where they were predicted

im watching less and less so its not working. IMHO more 1st round payers should be invited, slip or not its the product ie players not the NFL logo i tune in for...

Honestly, it'd be better with no players there. The post pick interviews are a time waste. I'm more interested in the talk about the player, not seeing the player.

Do the home reaction video instead. That's better.

Witherspoon won't make it to us...

The reason the NFL only invited these players is to minimize the awkwardness of having a player (thought to be drafted in the 1st) sit and wait and not be drafted in the 1st. It's an image thing for them, per usual.
It was hilarious watching Nakobe Dean looking like a lost toddler last year for two days.

Like WT flock, all dressed up and nowhere to go.

i get it but you are not the norm, and its not just "tv" its any type of streaming content and its being consumed more and more than ever before. I too agree that i wish more were invited but it doesn't fit the production story the nfl is going for.

It was reported that the NFL wants ALL PLAYERS at the draft to get drafted. It is just too devastating to an extremely talented athlete to "not be chosen" on national TV. It might ruin their career. LOL
then maybe they should stop breaking the rounds apart trying to squeeze out every drop.
