#18 overall (1st round): Jonathan Cooper, G, North Carolina

An instant starter at the guard or center position. Let's keep our $108 million dollar QB healthy.

#47 overall (2nd round): Eric Reid, S, LSU

Reid is a "right kind of guy" and although I question his coverage abilities, he has the character and ball skills to improve throughout his career.

#80 overall (3rd round): Le'Veon Bell, RB, Michigan State

A tough and hard-nosed runner that really reminds me of a young and fresh Marion Barber. Can handle a big workload if Murray is injured.

#114 overall (4th round): Bennie Logan, DT, LSU

Apparently Logan did not have a strong Pro Day this past week, but in the 4th round he would be an absolute steal. It's possible Logan is just one of those guys who doesn't excel with the measurables. With Ratliff possible not returning in 2014 and Hatcher in a contract year, depth is needed on the DL.

#151 overall (5th round): Josh Boyce, WR, TCU

The Cowboys have interest and with Austin and Dez having injury concerns, it wouldn't hurt to draft some depth and potential.

#185 overall (6th round): Michael Williams, TE, Alabama

The prototypical blocking tight end with size and potential. Could step right in as the 3rd tight end.

What do you guys think?

I like it...Bell scares me a little with the new rules making it seemingly more difficult for phyiscal runners. Do like the player though.

Like it, but what about offensive tackle? Just going to give it to Parnell?

The perfect fit for the Cowboys.

#47 overall (2nd round): Eric Reid, S, LSU
Maybe. I don't really like the idea of any Safety for the Cowboys that might not be great in coverage. Reid has terrific measureables and seems to have good instincts. Safety is the most difficult positions to evaluate and Reid is one of the more difficult Safeties to evaluate.

#80 overall (3rd round): Le'Veon Bell, RB, Michigan State
I might wait to see if he falls to the 4th, but I like the player.

#114 overall (4th round): Bennie Logan, DT, LSU
I have not seen his Pro-Day results, but at the combine he had good agility measureables, long arms, big hands and 30 reps on the bench. He seems like a good fit in Kiffin's system. He is reported to be a high character player.

#151 overall (5th round): Josh Boyce, WR, TCU
Good. This player seems to be in all the Cowboys mock drafts now.

#185 overall (6th round): Michael Williams, TE, Alabama
Good. Should come in a contribute immediately as a blocking TE.
He is limited in that he is slower than many Offensive Linemen. In my review of Cowboys games from 2012 on the All-22, they had many plays fail due to inadequate blocks from Tight Ends.

I like this. And I think it's reasonable. Personally, Reid isn't the S I'd want, but he is a definite candidate at that spot. I'd be sweating bricks about not adding DL until the 4th, but Logan at that spot would solve that problem nicely.

If we could get the value to fit, some combination of OL, DL, S in the first three rounds makes sense to me, and then RB in the 4th or 5th, but since things never work out the way you ballpark them to work, I could easily see the picks fall in place like this, and these are all players that seem to fit what we're doing nicely.

Thank you for the comments! Can't believe the draft is under 4 weeks away!

I would make Free take a hefty pay cut and have a legit RT competition between him and Parnell.

Best mock I've seen for what's most likely to happen.

Here's the thing. Every year right before the draft I post a thread asking for people to select 15-20 players they feel are most likely to get drafted by the Cowboys. Every year the best anyone gets is 1 or 2 players correct.

You think you know but you don't know. And neither do I.

Which safety do you like? The more write ups I read and highlights I watch the more confused I get. It seemed like Phillip Thomas showed toughness coming back from an injury and playmaking with 13 interceptions, 6 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. The write up on CBS was very positive and the highlights I watched on youtube looked impressive.

I question them too. So why spend a second on him?

Who purports to know what the Cowboys will do? And you mean....it's hard to know who the Cowboys will draft when the Cowboys don't know? And do you know why the Cowboys don't know? Because they are not drafting in a vaccum. There are these other 'things' called teams that have a say in how the draft goes.

Thanks for stating the obvious.

I just like his character, upside and the measurables. Maybe he didn't fit the scheme at LSU very well?

I have heard everything from them trading into top 12 to draft a DT, to them trading next years picks (GOD NO) for more picks this year. The only thing I feel confident of is the picks and positions they are in now, likely wont be the same at the end of April.

Personal favorites at S are Vaccaro (though I don't want to draft him in the first), Cyprien (who falls between our picks), and then Thomas. I like Rambo a little later, too. But I agree: it's hard to project S's, and it's hard to know for whatever reason this year which ones we're going to be looking at.

Basically, this is one where you just hope the new defensive staff can tell the scouts exactly what they're looking for and find a guy somewhere in the first four rounds where he represents really good value. At least it's a really deep class.

I like Reid, he played SS at LSU and played alot in the box. When he played back or in zone, some times even single high safety he was very good.

People who haven't watched Reid play the last three years just watch you tube highlights and do see amazing plays. But if you ever watch a game, you see Reid is in almost every play, aligning the secondary, and is te team captain, something Garrett likes.

I think Reid would be just fine as a zone FS in the NFL.

Totally agree with this. I would love the pick in the 2nd round. If he's not there, I would go DL in the 2nd and look for Philip Thomas in the 3rd or J.J. Wilcox in the 4th.

He's not a casual favorite of mine, but he does seem like a player the Cowboys could well be interested in.
