Just a week after the Carolina Panthers doubled down on their interest in Eric Kendricks, coupling a private workout with an official pre-draft visit, the Dallas Cowboys did the same.

Kendricks got a close look at the Cowboys facility Tuesday, just a couple of weeks after Cowboys linebackers coach Matt Eberflus put him through a private workout in California.

"It's awesome that they're wanting to spend this much time with me," Kendricks said. "They taught me a play (at the workout), and I had to tell them the play back again when I got to the facility. That went pretty well."

Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon, Georgia star Todd Gurley, and USC defensive back Josh Shaw were among the athletes who made their official visit Tuesday along with Kendricks. None got too much of a feel for what the Cowboys really think of them, according to Kendricks.

Nice. I think this makes him a favorite for 27.

Hard for me to believe we would draft an LB after all the work we have done via FA. I suppose I see the logic. We have Sean, who you never really know about, health wise. We have a bunch of guys on short term contracts. I suppose this might be a prudent move if you didn't plan on resigning some of them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but McClain's contract, while less money, is structured similarly to Hardy's? It's a one year deal anyway, if Kendricks is BPA for them at 27, I could definitely see this given that McClain is 1 misstep from a suspension and Lee's health concerns.

I don't find it too hard to believe. We wanted Shazier last year and not much has changed. Hitchens proved to be a good player but I wonder if the team still views him as a backup/role player

I love the guy as a prospect. I usually don't want to see a 43 team spend a first on LB when they have DL and CB needs but if he's the best player there, I'm all for it. He is going to be a very good player for about a decade.

I'll take that.

Kendricks is a 3 down player who is not a liability in coverage,i do not trust Sean lee to stay healthy through preseason let alone the whole season so it s prudent move to get his successor in the squad.

I wouldn't mind him at all because I love to upgrade the front 7 but I think BPA from value standpoint might be CB at 27

He looks to be as safe of a pick as there is at #27. CB is a bigger need, but I'd actually prefer Kendricks because I'm not sold on Kevin Johnson or Byron Jones, and you'd have a hard time convincing me that they have those two higher on their draft board than Kendricks.

thats fair i guess,i like KJ but he is too lanky and i worry he will not be able to take it in the NFL.

Agreed. He's also pretty tentative when it comes to tackling, or coming up in run support. I'd much prefer Peters.

That's just what they're doing.

Getting a feeling for who might be the BPA at #27.

We're looking at a lot of guys who aren't individually likely to be there at 27. But the likelihood that *one* of them will make it to us is probably pretty high. I like almost all of the names we appear to be associating with so far.

I do think we're going to add to that front 7 rotation at a couple spots in this draft. DE and CB also make sense given where the depth of the draft is and where we'll be at those position next offseason. Would be good to get a rookie in who could start and play well next season at one of those two key positions.

We're also doing a really good job of lining up our needs with where we're picking and where the drafts are thick with talent these days. It's nice to have a couple DE options and multiple CB options at 27, and to have RBs who can help us available in the third and fourth rounds after that. If we were looking for QB or S this year, for example, I'd be a lot less comfortable with what we'd be likely to get.

Rather have a cb in the first. I'm sure he is going to be great I just don't see spending a first on a lb when you have great ones. Yea most likely mcclain will be moving on next year but we will be having another draft before that season starts.
