Things I've learned recently

I learned fancy sports cars look better in the city than on rough dirt roads.

Wanting a shiny new toy is usually better than having it. My barn is full of those that haven't been used in years.

Doing things the old way ain't nearly as rewarding as it sounds.

Notes to self almost always get lost.

I ain't as young as I used to be. My mind gets it but my heart ain't quite latched onto the premise.

I've learned that mother nature makes a tough partner and Mile High Stadium induces brain farts

Dak, DLaw, Swaim, Frederick, Martin, Crawford, just off the top of my head.
I might add Bailey also . Jaylon Smith seems to be a really good example of someone who really wants to be the best . His work ethic to recover after that injury and drop 3% body fat while putting on 8 lbs of muscle is incredible . He also improved all his times in the drills .

Would love it if the rest of the team could follow his example and commitment . We seem to have a lot of players that fall somewhere between Jaylon and Randy Gregory in commitment level . Im selfish I want them all at Jaylons level . At that point the team could actually overcome Garrett LOLOL

The most important thing I have learned recently is to slow down.

Throughout my working career, I was rewarded for rapid decision-making and completing projects ahead of schedule. This "speed-dating" approach occasionally led to an "ah-s***" moment, but generally produced the type of results the execs wanted.

Now that I am retired, nothing thrills me more than to simply take my time and live in the moment.

Ok, enough philosphification.

:)

1) Old dogs can learn new tricks especially when the old dog has a younger version of self who is energized. I'm referring to both myself and JJ.

2) Change can be good but sometimes making changes just to change things up doesn't change the results at all. That reference is to my business and a certain HC

3) Light poles don't lie. They just lay on cars after being struck by cars, who knew. Also, driving a motor scooter after more than 12 beers is stupid. That reference also goes to self ( I had a motor bike once) and a certain WR

4) Intelligence goes to genetics. Smart goes to application of intelligence... see Dirvng and Twilliams (and #3 above)

5) Sometimes you should look a gift horse in the mouth. What?? Grandpa used to say that. Horses teeth are a good way to approximate age but what the old codger meant was, if you're given a gift just say thanks and don't open the mouth to check out the age. He was wise but those who don't check things out thoroughly often find the horse to be an old nag. Sort of goes to self and Dez who became an old nag

What you think guys... any life lessons you've learned recently that we could all learn from and applied to our beloved
yes....i need Jesus Christ for everything in my life
