Kosier is not overrated, I'm puzzled when some Dallas fans say that. Do you realize we went 4-0 with him? Started out 3-0 because our run game was unstoppable, not to mention protecting Romo..We struggle with the running game without him. He comes back 6 weeks later at the Commander game and again dominate the running game. There's a common denominator here

Steelers are patient on offense, organized, and understands that you don't have to put up 30 points to win a game.

They are also opportunistic, and don't have a lot of sloppy play on offense and defense.

They are a terrible team on offense, totally sloppy. If it wasnt for thier world class defense they would be 5-11.

Then what are we, and what are the other 29 teams? If they are sloppy, then I'd like to be them.

After looking up some stats, I will say that they really are no better than the Cowboys except in the penalty department. We lead league by far in penalties on offense with 119 on offense, on defense we had 88.

Seems like our offense is sloppier than our defense by far. That Flozell

Dear lord 119 penalties? Over 200 for the team? That is ludicrous.

thats got to be upwards of 2k yards. Thats an MVP running back right there.

Well, Mont17 has made a passively direct point that the Steelers have lost a perrenial pro bowl left guard in Alan Faneca and have not made excuses but rather gotten themselves to the SB with what they have. Another way to look at it is that you can develop reasonable replacements within an organization and that FA is an overrated high priced solution that doesn't necessarily guarantee favourable results.

Now, I've heard fans and our team make injury excuses, particularly siting left guard, as a large reason for our lack of results. I am more than positive the OP refers to a comparison of our team making injury excuses and lacking results as opposed to Blitzburgh who has sustained injuries, continued improving their record and now find themselves in the SB.

MONT17 has created an implication in his post to create the thought process without blatantly exposing an opinion that most likely won't go well around here. Well, it's a shame he has to feel this way because if what I am depicting is the truth, I can clearly see why it enters the mind.

Ben Roethlisberger has played with beaten up ribs since their week 4 game against Philly. Their #1 pick was hurt the majority of the year at running back. Their superstar left guard went to another team whether they planned for it or not. 3 of their o-lines starters played sparingly throughout the year and they obviously didn't plan for that like the departing of Alan Faneca.

Our QB apparently collapsed in th shower from the pain he felt. Romo never said anything about it and that'smore positive Jerry jones media push than anything. However it may have happened. Ben didn't need a report to explain how bad his ribs have been though, he's still playing. Our rb is hurt, our lineman is hurt. Yes, we had injuries but we have had more distractions and excuses than anything else, injuries and talent as abundantly much as we have included. Pittsburgh has less talent, less distractions, just as many injuries, but more of everything else that makes a solid football team.

You guys want to jump down my neck, don't waste your time. You're better off watching Marty B's new video or checking when T.O and Michael Irvin have each of their reality shows season premieres scheduled. Or listen to Bradie James clarify the reality of this team. You know, a source who is in the locker room and is the supposed captain of this team. Bradie and Witten were the only guys on this team that were even relevant in the season finally. Bradie has comealong and I respect him voicing this, to stir up change. Listen the guy is paid, he could just suck it up. He isn't though. I respect that and he's turned into a player.

Don't bash guys like Mont or Brady for telling the truth. If none of it makes sense that's ok too. But don't expect results anytime soon if things seem shipper to the rest of the fans. No one will change a thing in the organization as long as we adhere like sheep and continue to generate the leagues largest fan based revenue.

Chuckle... do you really think that will work, hoss?? Trust me, if I found what you said to be bogus, I'd be certain to get on your case...

If you're a FAN, you support the team... if you don't support the team, you're not a fan...

Try THINKING; what happens if we stop providing "the league's largest fan-based revenue"?? Answer-- Jerry stops spending on players... yeah, putting a crimp in his budget is really gonna help the team get back to the top...

Oh, and don't bother responding to this... :D

I don't stand for the stupidity that is going on. I'm a fan and will always be. There is more to revenue generation than just watching the games, buying merchandise, paying parking, tickets to games and concessions. There are partnerships like Ford, Pepsi and Direct Energy. These companies jump on the Cowboy wagon to get more exposure obviously.

Well look at how this team is creating that exposure and it is no coincidence. If fans get tired of this circus, reducing customer interest, all of those big partnership contracts disappear unless Jerry finds another way to interest the mass'. If the mass' dictate the "no more circus" approach and it hurts the bottom line, Jerry listens. You want to threaten me and anyone else that they aren't a fan by not buying into this crap than go ahead.

Don't start off a post asking someone a question and then end your post by
saying don't respond to your post, it comes across very hipocritical and condesending. It's not necessary to bring up not being a fan of this team either when someone says they are tired of excuses and this circus. I root for the Dallas Cowboys and not the Bengals or Browns. I expect results and 'm going to watch the games and always cheer for this team. However, I won't buy into this BS mindset that you are talking about. Go and adhere to this garbage. Go root for the circus all you want. Don't tell me what to do though, I never told anyone what to do on this thread. Don't know who you think you are asking a ridiculous, pointless question like you did in the beginning of your post. I'm not trying to do anything, I did. Big difference. What's with calling out the admins name also in your post?

Also, not sure what your background is in marketing and customer service but I don't know of too many business' that last long with your approach. No customer, no business. Buying jerseys, going to the stadium to watch games, etc are all luxuries as opposed to staying at home to watch the game. Peoples pockets are going to get tighter, if they aren't already and nobody is going to stretch their budget when a bunch of jerks go on YouTube and rap about how they got Jerry's (your money) while they drink champaigne. Who knows, maybe you're supported by someone else, and that's perfectly fine. But it makes it harder fr you to understand how the economics play in this whole thing. Futhermore, how customers ultimately control the economics of this whole thing. You seem bright, condesending though too. Speak humble and you'll shine brighter. By the way, you're not capable of jumping down my neck. Don't attempt to come across as if you were sheep.

Kosier went on IR this year and we missed the playoffs. Fact!

Yet this guy has said something that makes everyone who reads his post less intelligent? Insults with no purpose. Please enlighten me if what I read from the OP is not fact. This was the 2008/2009 season right? It's not cool to treat people like this for putting up a thread.

When a QB gives up back to back 47 sack seasons, you really don't notice a tail off in play when an OL leaves. Their defense keeps them with a winning record, not their offense.

Edit: Actually, they gave up 1 fewer sacks. Guess Kemoeatu really was the missing piece. To think, they could have had a run of 4 straight Superbowls had they but started him.

So you're gonna holler and beat your fists on the floor and hold your breath until you turn blue in the face...

Then you're gonna do it all over again... repeatedly, probably...

Gotcha...

Well look at how this team is creating that exposure and it is no coincidence. If fans get tired of this circus, reducing customer interest, all of those big partnership contracts disappear unless Jerry finds another way to interest the mass'.

And then Jerry will lack the cash flow to improve the team personnel...

Brilliant...

You want to threaten me and anyone else that they aren't a fan by not buying into this crap than go ahead.

Uhhh, that was an observation, hardly a "threat"... but judging by your defensive reaction, it hit home...

Don't start off a post asking someone a question and then end your post by
saying don't respond to your post, it comes across very hipocritical and condesending.

Perhaps you mean "hypocritical and condescending"??

LOL... figures you'd be too obtuse to figure out I was mocking YOUR WORDS... or have you forgotten that you said, and I quote:

You guys want to jump down my neck, don't waste your time.

Unlike you, I welcome any and all responses, including the negative ones... indeed, sometimes I think I enjoy the negative ones more than the positive ones...

It's not necessary to bring up not being a fan of this team either when someone says they are tired of excuses and this circus.

This is true, but you went considerably further than that... you went so far as to propose a boycott of Cowboys merchandise, which would have the net effect of making it tougher for Jerry to field a competitive team...

And when you go to proposing such things because you don't LIKE the way things are going, then you're one piss-poor excuse for a fan...

Think about it...

Go root for the circus all you want.

Inasmuch as I have been a Cowboys fan since their first game, and have survived FAR worse times than this, you can count on it... and if you don't want to root for "the circus", well, bye...

Don't tell me what to do though

Where have I done that?? Show me one quote that could be construed as me ordering you around, the way you so lamely tried to do... the "don't bother responding to this" was OBVIOUSLY a sarcastic JOKE, the smiley should have tipped you off... I was mocking you...

I never told anyone what to do on this thread.

Of course you did, and once again, I quote:

You guys want to jump down my neck, don't waste your time.

That's clearly and unequivocally telling anybody who disagrees with you not to respond to your alleged thoughts... and that little bit of arrogance is what got me to respond to you in the first place...

What's with calling out the admins name also in your post?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... I called YOU "hoss"... which is a form of address rather like "pal", or "buddy"... inasmuch as I don't consider you a pal or a buddy, I chose "hoss"...

It's a West Texas thang, you probably wouldn't understand...

And for the record, when I refer to Hostile, it's always as "Hos"... just ask him...

You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are you??

Also, not sure what your background is in marketing and customer service but I don't know of too many business' that last long with your approach. No customer, no business.

And then, no wins... which leads to even more fairweather fans like you calling for boycotts, quitting on the team... and around and around and around we go...

Well, you can be a fairweather fan if you absolutely must, but don't expect me to join you... and don't expect me to respect your position...

You seem bright, condesending though too.

Gee, as condescending as ordering people who disagree with you not to bother responding to you??

Oh, wait a sec, I didn't do that, YOU did...

Speak humble and you'll shine brighter.

Physician, heal thyself... I haven't often read a more completely arrogant post than the one that I initially responded to...

By the way, you're not capable of jumping down my neck.

LOL... clearly, I am... more to the point, I'm capable of getting under your skin pretty quick when I do...

At this point, you really don't have any conception of how capable I am of making guys like you apoplectic... but keep on trying to hang with me, you'll quickly figure it out...

The point is the Steelers KNEW they were gonna be without Faneca before training camp ever started, indeed before the draft... so they were able to prepare themselves for the loss...

But the Cowboys didn't, they didn't know until right before the start of the regular season that they'd be without Kosier's services... that's why the last second trade for Montrae Holland... perhaps if they had known further in advance that Kyle would be unavailable, as the Steelers did, they wouldn't have had the problems at guard that they experienced...

IOW, your two situations, the Steelers' and the Cowboys' are not at all analagous...

It's not cool to treat people like this for putting up a thread.

Oh, sweet Jay-sus, is this your first time on a message board?? Do grow up, ALL football message boards have a certain element of "in your face"... this board is a little more disapproving of that kind of thing, but only a little... even the mods and admins will play the sarcasm card when they feel like it...

Hey, maybe Miss Manners operates a Cowboys message board somewhere, you should check... LOL...
