Y'know, OAM, it suddenly occurs to me that maybe I AM being a little hard on you... it might be that you're not only a newbie to this message board, you might be a newbie to ALL message boards, and thus unfamiliar with how they work...

So to step back, and try to approach you in a bit less confrontational way, let me just say that what caused me to give you grief was your comical demand that nobody who disagrees with you should respond...

That just isn't the way it works, man... you put your opinion out there, and then we ARGUE about that opinion... if you're unwilling to deal with disagreement, then don't post your thoughts (and no, that's not me trying to get you to stop posting in here, that's kind of a generic observation, one valid for ALL of us)...

If you post something that absolutely nobody disagrees with, you must be belaboring the obvious, because we've got all kinds of people with all kinds of opinions in here...

That's all I'm trying to get across to you, in my typically sarcastic manner... now, is your mind open enough that you can accept constructive criticism, when you're approached in a less confrontational manner??

Plain and simple. How about we don't acknowledge 1 another. You get the last word and can go and insult all you want, you obviously need it. Rules or no rules, you don't talk the way you do to people and expect to be successful in anything life has to offer. Discussions with you are a complete waste of my time. Wish I had nicer things to say but I don't and it's overdue.

This is my second request that we do not acknowledge 1 another directly or indirectly. I have no opinion of you, the last thing I want is to even acknowledge your existence. I desire no memory of you at all. Please do the same. Absolutely the last time I respond to you. Best of luck in your future endeavors. :)

The Steelers O Line was horrible all year. They won because obviously they have a big time defense with proven winners and a winning QB regardless of his stats. Im not stating anything you guys don't know already

You can do what you want, but if you annoy me by being arrogant again, I'll comment on it... if you give respect to this board, then any responses I might choose to make will also be respectful...

If you have a problem with that, look into the Ignore feature... then you'll only see my words if somebody else quotes them...

However, you might find that my annual draft preview, and my draft spreadsheets, are things you'd like to check out... they seem to be quite popular with the regulars in here...

Yes, I DO on occasion talk football... and on occasion, I joke around with the other regulars... they tell me I'm quite funny...

It doesn't matter how much talent anyone has, it matters only what they do on the football field, or not.

This team went from presenting the appearance of being good to presenting the appearance of being lousy and they went from winning games to losing games. It doesn't matter why.

Next season starts all over again with training camp in six months and they will improve or they won't. Either way, it's Jerry Jones' problem, not mine.

Then what are we, and what are the other 29 teams? If they are sloppy, then I'd like to be them.

They were 23rd in total offense, 29th in sacks allowed and 29th YPCarry. In short they were awful on offense.

CHis Kemo is who replaced Faneca and let me tell you Kemo SUCKS

the oline play is NOT why there steelers are in the superbowl.. its the steelers D

if you wacth steeler games and I live in Pittsburgh and see everyone as long as it is not the same time as a cowboys game...

Steelers CAN NOT run the ball 24th in the NFL in rushing and the ground attack as STUNK in the playoffs...

Pass blocking is even worse look up how many times Big Bum has been sacked it will surprise you..

Oline play has 100% of Nothing to do why they are in the superbowl

playing a 8-8 chargers team and the Ravens team the steelers own does... match up are everything these days.

In all honesty, I get the strongest feeling that OAM comes from rather wealthy parents, or at the very least parents who always indulged their precious child... he carries not a chip on his shoulder, but this huge sense of entitlement... he's probably never been told that he was wrong, and just can't handle it... and admit that he might have made a mistake??

Fahgeddaboutit...

So naturally, when he encounters opposition, he just can't handle it... apparently, he's used to everybody agreeing with everything he says... thus the "don't bother" crack...

I have read this thread for 2 days and about 90% of it is bashing the OP and this OAM gent who seemed to originally come out and try to talk some football, while outlining what he thought was MONT17's point.

Guys were doing nothing but slamming MONT17 as they and I usually do and it looks like the guy felt bad for him and knew the others would "jump down his neck", so he outright said "don't bother" before it happened. It obviously happened anyways. So guess he was right in his prediction. :p:

Nonetheless, OAM seemed to try and turn it into a football discussion while explaining why he wants change and would try to push Jerry's buttons to get it. I want change too and we have to do something. But the guy was battered with insults and the same retorical response. He decided to take the highroad and request both men walk away since neither were seeing eye to eye on anything and didn't want to play the insult game back.

I don't think he was afraid of confrontation or didn't expect a response, nor did he not welcome one. Especially looking at all the detail he went into to respond to his responses. I think he honestly felt like he was wasting his time. He said it. He also seemed like an older dude that "made his own living", not living with his parents. At least that's my perception since everyone else is giving theirs.

Anyhow, the guy took the high road and is still being insulted. Even wished you good luck. Lol, not so sure he's the one who made a mistake after looking at everything. Best of luck Silverbear. :D

Well, Mont17 has made a passively direct point that the Steelers have lost a perrenial pro bowl left guard in Alan Faneca and have not made excuses but rather gotten themselves to the SB with what they have. Another way to look at it is that you can develop reasonable replacements within an organization and that FA is an overrated high priced solution that doesn't necessarily guarantee favourable results.

Now, I've heard fans and our team make injury excuses, particularly siting left guard, as a large reason for our lack of results. I am more than positive the OP refers to a comparison of our team making injury excuses and lacking results as opposed to Blitzburgh who has sustained injuries, continued improving their record and now find themselves in the SB.

MONT17 has created an implication in his post to create the thought process without blatantly exposing an opinion that most likely won't go well around here. Well, it's a shame he has to feel this way because if what I am depicting is the truth, I can clearly see why it enters the mind.

Ben Roethlisberger has played with beaten up ribs since their week 4 game against Philly. Their #1 pick was hurt the majority of the year at running back. Their superstar left guard went to another team whether they planned for it or not. 3 of their o-lines starters played sparingly throughout the year and they obviously didn't plan for that like the departing of Alan Faneca.

Our QB apparently collapsed in th shower from the pain he felt. Romo never said anything about it and that'smore positive Jerry jones media push than anything. However it may have happened. Ben didn't need a report to explain how bad his ribs have been though, he's still playing. Our rb is hurt, our lineman is hurt. Yes, we had injuries but we have had more distractions and excuses than anything else, injuries and talent as abundantly much as we have included. Pittsburgh has less talent, less distractions, just as many injuries, but more of everything else that makes a solid football team.

You guys want to jump down my neck, don't waste your time. You're better off watching Marty B's new video or checking when T.O and Michael Irvin have each of their reality shows season premieres scheduled. Or listen to Bradie James clarify the reality of this team. You know, a source who is in the locker room and is the supposed captain of this team. Bradie and Witten were the only guys on this team that were even relevant in the season finally. Bradie has comealong and I respect him voicing this, to stir up change. Listen the guy is paid, he could just suck it up. He isn't though. I respect that and he's turned into a player.

Don't bash guys like Mont or Brady for telling the truth. If none of it makes sense that's ok too. But don't expect results anytime soon if things seem shipper to the rest of the fans. No one will change a thing in the organization as long as we adhere like sheep and continue to generate the leagues largest fan based revenue.

First of all ROMO DID COLLASPE, NOT "APPARENTLY" OR "MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED."

This has been verified by numerous media outlets and by players in the lockerroom when it happened. The fact that you think this whole thing might have been staged is disturbing to say the least.

Secondly, nobody here is "adhering like sheep". Many of us dont like the current situation and depending on who you talk to they will say it is Jerry's fault or it is Wade's fault or it is Garrett's fault or it is TO's fault, ect.....

However, not buying tickets or not buying merchandise or not watching the games is a bit drastic, dont you think??? I have watched every single game since Jerry has purchased the Cowboys, I try to go to one home game a year if my income allows it, and I buy everything I can with the star on it.

I LOVE THE BOYZ, EVEN IF THEY HAVENT WON A PLAYOFF GAME SINCE 97!!!!

And if they go another 13 years without a playoff win, I will still love the team just as much and try to buy as much merchandise as I can and go to as many games as I can afford.......BEAST IS A DIEHARD SUPERFAN!!!

Fair-weather fans can go watch figure skating and boycott all they want, I really dont care myself.

I own these Jersey's: Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Terrell Owens and Demarcus Ware. My next jersey will be Felix Jones. Some of the players I own 2 jerseys.

I have autographed memorabilia and have flown down to see 3 games in my lifetime. Tailgated in the parking lot hours before the games. Actually want to purchase a home in Texas some day so I can go to see more games.

I watch every game and don't miss any of them. A family members funeral happened when we played the Broncos for the Thanksgiving day game and I was stil there to watch us lose by a field goal 24 to 21. I have recruited many friends to become fans and host gameday parties at my house almost every weekend if not at the sports bar to watch games.

My point is I am a huge fan as well and will always watch this team, always. I have as much merchandise as most. It does not mean that I have to keep my mouth quiet when I desire a different approach for this team though.

When we signed Pacman and Tank I supported this team. When we signed T.O I supported this team. When Parcells left, when Jerry ran Jimmy out I still supported this team. We haven't won a playoff game in 12 years and I still support this team. However, I question the structure, the philosphy and the leadership of this team. I have every right to and only do so because I care. I defend these players every week when people tell me "Romo's soft and a choker". "T.O's a cancer". "You guys pick up other teams criminal trash". But what I can't accept is this lack of focus, passion and leadership come game days.

I hear a lot of yapping during the week to the media, who is obviously against us and I see this huge training camp spectacle, but no passion on game days. No cohesion. Now adays I find myself talking more about gossip with opposing fans than quality football because that's what this team has been associated with. People can deny this all they want and call me a "fairweather fan" but that's the farthest thing from the truth. Why can't we get to focus on football anymore? I like a bit of glitz and glam too but it's a circus. The reason why I follow this team is being washed away by all of this nonsense. I believe Jerry tries hard and is one of the best owners in the league, but he needs to get this team focused and peeking at the right time. He needs to get the football people to do that. I think it's more fun talking about what Felix Jones can be as opposed to what is going on with Adam jones who is no longer on this team.

Anyways, every one is entitled to their opinion and just because some people don't come on here accepting everything doesn't mean they aren't real fans. Some will bark, some will agree. I never said boycott the Dallas Cowboys and I wold never recommend it. What I am saying is if we adhere to this direction the team is in and continue to show approval by getting sucked in by the media and showing Jerry that any news is good and I'm just gonna buy everything no matter what I'm afraid it will continue. Now Jerry is very receptive to what the fans want. Very, as much as any owner. But he is a lot like us, fanatical about this team. He is an aswesome owner and has somegood personnel people around him but he has his hand in everything, all the way down to the locker room. It should be a huge thing to see Jerry come down there in the locker room because he's the owner and is the guy upstairs. When he comes down it's because we did something very good or something very bad beyond what the coach or GM control.

Anyways, I hope we can all talk some good football. All the best to you all and your families. Hope we have an exciting SB. Go Cards! :star:

P.S - I believe Romo did collapse but I am more than positive Jerry made sure it was known throughout the media after that horrible loss to Philly. Did Romo ever say anything about it?

Wow thats the million dollar question huh..... Many think we need a new coach, a new QB, high priced free agents, a new OC, a GM, new owner and to cut a certain WR.

New coach: I really thought Wade could do it after replacing the departed Tuna, but since its been two years his demeanor isnt going to cut it now. We need someone to get into the players hind ends and stay there til they stop making mistakes and have some accountability. I really wanted Wade to do well as he truly is a good guy but I think hes that guy that everyone knows they can push and push and will never push back. I dont know who would be the idea candidate but call me nostalgic, Jimmy would make me smile for a decade...lol....

QB: Tony Romo does make some untimely mistakes but its also that attitude that gives him the ability to make great plays... Hes a playmaker and a leader despite what some people may say. He is what a Cowboys QB should be. Im sure some might try and argue that but this is my opinion and he can sure pull the ladies lol...

Free Agents.... Sure does seem like the good teams always have someone waiting in the wings to take over for their high priced free agents. We should follow those teams IMO. The Colts, Titans, Steelers, Eagles, Pats, and i might be leaving someone out but you catch my drift here.... We have had some decent drafts of late and I think we can continue that path and load up on home grown talent. Im not saying we cant sign a player or two but we need chemistry one way or another..

Jason Garrett..... I swear I know the plays that are coming and I havent played ball since the 8th grade.... I think he has the talent but you didnt see this when Sparano was here last year... I think his leaving hurt us alot more than what anyone had expected. Hes too smart not to figure this out and I really believe he will rebound in 09. We cant get team chemistry if were changing coaches everyother year.

im not even going to get into the owner/gm thing.. Why waste my breathe. Jerry trys hard and I really believe hes one of the best owners in sports.

TO... The other kinda cancer..lol... Hes a top notch player who drops the ball at the worst times. I like his passion but sometimes thats his poison as well. I think he makes this team better but if his absence means this team could gel and win without him then Im all for him leaving.

Overall I hate to see this team go through another year like this last one. When Romo went down is when this team failed. Brad was horrible..I dont know if Garcia would help or would even be willing to come but I would think he could carry the load if something like that happened again. Anyway Im tired of typing and look forward to someone tearing this apart and arguing with me over it... lol...

Maybe we should be glaring at the more obvious changes that happen between this last season and the one before. And really the only thing that changed, and actually changed before the playoff loss to the Giants, was one thing. What was that? Julius Jones not in the starting lineup.

Last 2 seasons;
With Julius Jones as our #1 we are 13-3
With Marion Barber as our #1 we are 9-8

Seriously people, what else has changed really? We can't just blame it all on Pac-Man can we?

Then look at the beginning of the season with Felix, that similar JuJo type running back, our record, and what happen to our season the moment he went down.

Personally I don't think it's so much the other two running backs as it is the mentality of Barber when he's paired with either of the two or at least someone similar. He has more to prove. He's got more of a killer instinct. He's not getting as tired. He finishes games. The team senses his urgency and rises around him. But without all of that, what do we really have?

Personally, I think that paired RB with Barber is exactly what we need to concentrate on going into this next season. It seems to have had the greatest impact on our team when closely examined. It may even be the secret to JG's success as an OC. For without it, his offense is literally running a cylinder short and trying to make up the difference elsewhere.

So I think we need to look closely at the durability of Felix Jones. If we don't think he's going to sustain it throughout the course of his career then we should just cut our loses while we can and go with Choice and Barber. That's my opinion.

Good post. On the coaching front, one thing that's interesting about Wade, he's got a laid-back reputation with the fans and media, but I've never heard a player say anything other than he's a great coach. In the Campo and Gailey days, players would give lip-service to the coach, but you could tell who they supported and who they didn't. It'd be interesting to see if Wade's Buffalo and Denver players had as much respect for him as the Cowboys seem too.

I'm increasingly thinking the problems on this team were between coordinators/position coaches and some of the more vocal players. Ellis hinted at this in his most recent interview, and listening to the players talk, it sure doesn't sound like even Witten has a real problem with TO.

We were 13-3 because for the most part we were healthy. Romo didnt go down, and our line actually blocked alot better, hence Kosier... Julius Jones didnt hardly help this team at all. Felix got hurt yes but that doesnt mean hes injury prone or that we should cut our losses... When he did play he spelled Barber very well and was on his way to being an absolute play maker... I actually think that when he went down we lost that homerun threat out of the back field. Barber is a beast but he doesnt run away from people. Choice was the x-factor. Im not sure why it took so long to get him in the mix, whether it was him not knowing blocking assignments or what but he was definetly a bonafide RB when he got going. RB is the furthest thing from being a need on this team.

Julius wouldnt have even made the team this year IMO
