Things to do/see in the Dallas area

If you're a history buff I highly recommend touring the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza. It's the building that used to be the Texas School Book Depository from which Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated JFK.

I'm flying to Dallas the first weekend in May to see my daughter get her Masters' degree. She made a point that I'm going to see the Sixth Floor Museum with her. She went there on a whim a couple of years ago and she loved it. She isn't a history buff at all so it says something when she has been there and is wanting to go again with me. I'm looking forward to it.

I was born, raised and still reside in DFW at age 28.

I like Dallas a lot (my childhood home was in lake highlands)

But Fort Worth is the better town for visitors.

The problem with Dallas is that it has no real identity. It's just another big city somewhere in America.

Fort Worth gives you that real Texas-y feel and there is just more to do.

Stockyards are great, downtown has great nightlife, and your 20 year old son wouldn't mind looking at TCU girls in west 7th. (Restaurants/bars).
