The completion percentage was fairly low, though, so it was just an issue of when he gave up plays, it was often big ones. Better recognition of double-moves will help some with that, as will better play by the free safety ... although I'm not sure we're going to get that. I expect Kazee to re-sign for cheap or for us to get a similarly cheap FS in free agency. The only real hope is that Mukuamu makes a big jump his sophomore year.
Agree.A lot of the issue was YAC as well. He really doesnt have that many air yards against him, but for whatever reason (his tackling or no safety protection) he got eaten up by the run after catch.
Agree.
He gave up 417 YAC and missed 10 tackles.
For comparison, Ramsey gave up 303 yac and missed 5 tackles.
A really great analysis of Diggs' season using a different metric than the craptastic PFF. I personally feel he could have stopped the article here:
A 54-for-103, 907 yard, 4 TD, 11 INT stretch is about three games worth of attempts and that would be a disgusting stat line for any quarterback. But somehow when it comes to what Diggs allowed over a full season, fans are supposed to look at those numbers as below-average coverage.
Good chart at the end which compares all CBs...interesting nuggets in that data.

I was thinking about Sanders. He was the goat, but still got picks every season.Jalen Ramsey got thrown at 7 less times than Diggs.
So they definitely still throw at him.
Some forget that Diggs had little experience going into this seasonA really great analysis of Diggs' season using a different metric than the craptastic PFF. I personally feel he could have stopped the article here:

Definitely overhyped, next year I bet he comes back to reality, gets burnt with a lot fewer interceptions. Dallas and fans crown talent to early.
He could easily had at least 20 for his career. I remember him dropping some picks during his rookie season, he's the definition of a ball hawkI think the ball just loves him. He’s the Talib, Marcus Peters type player that just finds the ball. My bet he has like 8 which is awesome. He already has 16 INt’s in his first two seasons.
Curious what people will say when Diggs suddenly has a 4 INT season. He won't be having 10+ every year.
I would assume he missed games or they stopped throwing at him as much.Curious what people will say when Diggs suddenly has a 4 INT season. He won't be having 10+ every year.
Anyone who thinks Diggs had a bad year doesn't know anything about football.
Yeah he gave up a few plays here and there but I'm sure a couple had to do with missed coverages/help by Safeties.
He literally had 11 interceptions.
11.
That is elite.

Dude he was a 1st team AP All Pro. This has nothing to do with Dallas or the fans. The man literally put up a stat line we haven't seen in 30+ years.
Odds are he won't have 11 picks next yea but the guy is a great CB.
