Think of the Upside; This Offense has Scary Potential

I mean there are a lot of questions at most positions.

Will Guyton evolve to an average LT (as of last year he was one of the 5 worst starters in the league)?

Will Beebe stay as the 15th C or will he be more? How good will a rookie RG be (could be good could be awful)?

Will Steele regain the ability to run block?

Will any of the TEs be good enough to make them a league average TE room?

Will there be a single decent RB on the roster?

Pickens, who is a known diva, will have to adjust to being a number 2. How does he handle that adjustment?

Finally, how will Dak be coming back from injury?

That is a LOT of questions for an offense to have.
Steele run blocking was not the problem.

The offense is shaping up. The biggest question mark I have is can Guyton actually play LT? If he can't we have a player who can so we could easily move him to RT.

If that happens, who's going to stop this offense with a healthy Dak. We now have the best receiver group in the league, I'd argue, if they all stay healthy. Plus, we have some nice developmental players as well.

Add to that, Pickens! Dude is a beast. I liked him coming out of college, thought he was the best receiver in that draft. Now, we basically have two WR1s and Tolbert, which makes Tolbert even better

Add in Jaydon Blue and Booker and this offense has really nice potential.

Scary even.

I saw this team really improving after the draft. Now we're definitely improved for next year enough to compete for the division, especially if this defense shapes up to its potential.
Nice, but there is the elephant in the house, eating all the money.

I can't remember his name? Sorry, the Dallas Cowboys suck...
until further notice.

Please carry on with fake dreams.

Good Post, I like the Cowboys chances of making the playoffs after the Pickens trade ,this offense just got a huge upgrade. If Dallas uses motion and play action with the speed that is in this offense , Blue,Pickens,Cee Dee and Turpin. Then you have thumper running backs Mafah and Luepke I bet Schottenheimer and Klayton Adams are chomping at the bit to get to work with this new and improved football team.As far as the offensive line Dallas simply has to find a left tackle who can play, this team will figure this out .This could be a balanced offense Pass2Run.

What's the difference between the offense today and the offense when we had Cooper/Lamb/Gallup, a good running game, and an All-Pro Oline?
We never had that at the same time.

The all-pro line was gone before Lamb was here, and what we did have in 2020 was decimated by injuries.

Lamb was only a 2nd year guy in 21, and Gallup got hurt.

Yeah, the offensive line is an easy fix, for me at least. You don't lose a whole lot by just moving Tyler Smith to LT. And you even upgrade at some spots. To me, that's how you get your best 5 OL on the field.

Bothers me when I hear who's going to stop that!! Someone mentioned I think it was Mark Holmes talking about our pass rush with Micah d law and someone else, he said how are you going to stop that? I laughed when I heard it, because as soon as we play a team that schemes well, you don't see these players take over games. So I cringe and wait to see what they can do before saying they're going to be unstoppable!
This team will be as good as Schottenheimer and Klayton Adams and staff can coach them ,this is a solid group of players and an impressive coaching staff. If Dallas develops some team chemistry and plays together as a team they will be a top team in this league this season.

Agree. We have potential to be up there with Detroit. I think we just got better than the Commanders.

That is a sound idea With Tyler Smith moving to left tackle and I believe it would work well, but Dallas might not want to move Tyler Smith to left tackle. They might want to keep him at guard to keep the interior of the Oline strong, and see if Asim Richards could man the left tackle spot and move Guyton out to right tackle there is more than one way to handle this.Back to your post and Tyler Smith moving to left Tackle this could definitely work because Dallas has a lot of depth at guard for the left guard spot.I don't think the left tackle spot will be a major problem because I think Klayton Adams and Conor Riley will coach these players up ,and put the best 5 on the field.

Legit questions at LT and the OL as a whole coupled with an aging QB coming off a second major injury do not overtly shout “scary potential” to me. The OL will be starting a rookie at RG and two second year players, one of which is coming off of a horrible rookie year in the case of Guyton and a “meh” year in the case of Beebe. This doesn’t even touch on Steele’s inconsistency either.

Pickens solves our WR issue at the WR2. That’s granted, but I don’t think he’s going to make this offense “scary”? I don’t see it. We will once again be a bubble playoff team and maybe a double digit win team if all the stars align. If we make the playoffs, we won’t be scaring anyone, especially with the middle of our defense still seemingly soft as cheese.

What are you guys smoking that is grounding all of these predictions in such overarching optimism?

Scary isn’t the right word. Dak doesn’t scare anyone. But they should be better than last season as long as the line opens large holes for our subpar backs.

He moves the needle for me. Helps the whole team ..
