Think of the Upside; This Offense has Scary Potential

Legit questions at LT and the OL as a whole coupled with an aging QB coming off a second major injury do not overtly shout “scary potential” to me. The OL will be starting a rookie at RG and two second year players, one of which is coming off of a horrible rookie year in the case of Guyton and a “meh” year in the case of Beebe. This doesn’t even touch on Steele’s inconsistency either.

Pickens solves our WR issue at the WR2. That’s granted, but I don’t think he’s going to make this offense “scary”? I don’t see it. We will once again be a bubble playoff team and maybe a double digit win team if all the stars align. If we make the playoffs, we won’t be scaring anyone, especially with the middle of our defense still seemingly soft as cheese.

What are you guys smoking that is grounding all of these predictions in such overarching optimism?
I lean to your thinking as well.

I lean to your thinking as well.
If Blue ends up being as good as I think he is, we've got ourselves an offense with quite a bit of fire power, or juice as the kids today call it.

It's not a perfect offense, but one of the better ones we've seen in a while, at least potentially.

I guess the run-first offense just went out the window.
No , it should still be , that will open up the passing game, you dont forget who is the Qb , ( one year older and returning from major injury ) as usual he need all the help he can get.

You pass the ball, so you can run.

Steelers fans, overall, are leaning negative on the trade. Mainly because they brought in a four year older, 30m receiver who isn’t any better than Pickens who is making 3m and now they have no WR2

Sounds familiar to the howls around here after we signed CeeDee and had no one on the other side.

Sure, they have some guys who are frustrated by the diva aspects of Pickens but DK Metcalf has been that his whole career so they aren’t really upgrading their either.

This offense now will dominate in yardage, time of possession, and Red Zone effectiveness. That this fan does not now doubt.
Will they win the SB? This fan says, I doubt it.

How about you? It's funny that you can actually see the future.

What's the difference between the offense today and the offense when we had Cooper/Lamb/Gallup, a good running
game, and an All-Pro Oline?

Well we now have a new receiver who isn't known for disappearing in big games and away games like Amari Cooper. There's a reason Cooper has bounced around the league.

Gallup was solid for us, but what has he done lately? Is he still in the league?

Not so fast, let's see how this RB-by-Committee looks.

Man they are not happy eh

Saying they tried to trade him before the draft but the best they could get was a 4th.

This comment was interesting: "What I'm hearing from this group is that Omar got fleeced by Jerry Jones"
I mean, we could end up signing the guy. If you did this for, say, a first round pick, which would be a good deal, you'd just sign him.

We have a lot of options here. I've always liked me some Pickens. Thought he was the best receiver in that draft.

2 things for me:
1) With the exception of the Browns game, Dak looked pretty bad before the injury.
2) I am still far from sold on the RB room
