Think Pollard stays on as 2?

I don't see him getting 12 mill with all the other FA RB's that are going to be out there. I think he is an 8-9 mill guy. Saquan, Josh Jacobs and Miles Sanders are going to be the test of where the market is IMO and I would be shocked to see any of them get over 12 in todays RB market.
Watch TP is 12M RB.

I hope we can keep him. Zeke's current team first attitude and winning now makes me think he might consider re-structuring his deal.

Im thinking Zeke loves being in Dallas. Him and Dak are great friends. Dont think those things wont way on him. He also cant help but see where the team is. Leaving Dallas and the spotloight to go to the ????????? cant be very appealing.

Pollard's market should be around $12M, Cowboys can pay that with a Salary Cap rise, Shultz off the tag, and a looming Zeke pay cut. At worse, TP can play on the tag.

I don't think ego will come into play. I think TP can be compensated to his desire here.

Jerry loves Playmakers, so it's difficult to see them letting TP go.
Since when does ego not come into play?

Pollard started over Elliott Sunday and Booger had to make it about a disciplinary action with Elliott, not based on Pollard’s merit. Think Pollard is OK with that?

Pollard was a RB2 at Memphis and then Dallas, I think he has his eye on RB1.

I dont see any reason to not hit Pollard with the franchise tag this offseason. It's pretty reasonable for RBs.
It’ll probably come to that, although that 10m could serve as a signing bonus for a reasonable longer deal.

Depends on what his market is…and I can see someone using the reasoning that he doesn’t have starter mileage on him. He really could change an offense so I’d say at least two teams are willing to go further than we are, so we will likely end up tagging him….and they will also need to draft one. Hopefully not too high.

But can he take the ego hit of a reduced contract?

I agree with this. I think he has grown up a lot. Where he would go and start is the question.

I’m not a big fan of doing so, and a few weeks ago I never would have thought this…..but as of now I can see them working out a Lawrence type deal with Elliott.

He wants to be here and we know how Jerry feels. It makes best financial sense to tag Pollard and draft some fresher legs in the 2nd round or so, but I don’t get the vibe they are going to be ready to part ways in a couple of months.

Not here and sorry but the zone narrative is do NOT overpay a RB , 12m for RB in his contract year whose never carried a team and still will need to split snaps is hypocrisy at its best.. ever since 2019 nothing but crying around here about any team being stupid to pay a RB that kind of money,

FT pollard, Yes elevate Mailk and draft another RB best plan , period.

It’s either that or call the movers.

As I just mentioned above, I now think he stays, but under a restructure. If he refuses he is gone for sure. He made his money. Time to take one for the team, or move on.

Im sure he will choose the Lawrence route.

These are your thoughts on how TP feels. In his last interview he talked about how he's grown to temper his ego. If the man gets his money he'll probably be ok. He can be the RB1 in Dallas.

From TP's perspective, I would very much be looking to get my pay day. Never know which play could be your last. Although we are currently using him correctly, I would know how dysfunctional this organization can be and that would make me nervous to lock myself in.

As a fan, I absolutely hope we can keep TP (and Zeke for that matter). If teams view him as a time share player, it might keep the bidding in our range. If a team views him as the piece that can put them over the top, likely outside our budget.

I don't care about what the zone narrative is. TP is more than a RB he's a Playmaker. Pollard hasn't carried the team this year? Do you need opportunity to show you can carry a team? Are you doubting one of the Top 3 explosive RBs in the league with very little tread?

I'm not hearing it. $12M is reasonable for a Playmaker.

It will be interesting to see how those same people comment when the rubber has to meet the road. I suspect that many will now find a middle ground they previously denied existed.

NO he hasnt, not a heavy volume back or player..

so NO, I saw Kamara and Cmac which is Pollard's comp decline after they got paid and are not as explosive or the same player they were when they split time with other backs. so if Pollards splitting time, hes not a 12m $ back and from Hs thought the NFL never had a heavy load or been starting RB sorry man.. care more.12m is mistake IMOP..you use him up FT him , use Malik and draft another RB.. I luv the guy but not at 12m.. Maybe 10m is fair but hey IM not the FO..you can draft him to your FF and use him on Madden, in the real world of the cap i cant see him making 12m.esepcially with KM as our OC..

Ill leave that up to the FO. that my thoughts and wont debate further.

I don't see how the Cowboys keep Pollard if Zeke does not take a pay cut. Giving big money to 1 RB is bad enough. Giving big money to 2 RB's would be beyond silly.

Wouldn’t you be saying all the rights things playing for the 2nd contract?

The owner has to give his blessing for a changing of the guard at RB. Usually, the HC makes that call.
