Try to get a team friendly deal 3 years, if not franchise him one year and for the love of God release the deadweight 21.

I don’t think he stays anymore than Alvin Harper would have.

No position is more 2nd contract dependent than RB.

Pollard has a lot of light shining on him with more likely to come. And the RB role has increased in the NFL, his shot at the brass ring and he deserves that.

They would have to flip the order to keep Pollard and I do not see the GM doing that so it is back to the draft for a RB.

No doubt in my mind that Pollard is a Cowboy next year. And Zeke will restructure.

He pretty much insinuates that in his recent interview with both players.

Probably the best player interview I've seen all year.

- Depends upon the coaching ... and the team, imo.

- Most coaches seem to prefer a RB that they can load up on their shoulders ...and carry the brunt of the offense.
It takes the pressure of preventing losing .. and increasing chance of winning ...

- The coaches and teams that have a Henry, Chub, Barkley, Taylor, Jacobs, ,they are gonna jump the shoulders and ride toll those RBs

- But what if you backs like a McCaffrey? ... a Aaron Jones ? ... a Austin Eckler ..? Those are not bell cows big carry loaders - but they are Pro bowl
caliber, all purpose combination skills serve in how many touches they get between both rushing & receiving ...

- You have to identify your best players skill set, and what role they should best fit and know they can do best ..and what they cannot be asked to do ..

If I were FO I would tag him, let Zeke walk after next season and draft a thumper RB in the next 2 off seasons.

Everybody wins. Pollard gets his contract, we get fresh legs to spell him and we get out of this awful Zeke contract

Pollard would be absolutely sick behind that Eagles OL. I’d keep him.

I think Pollard will be the price for signing OBJ.

And if that's the case I'd rather keep Pollard.

And I believe Zeke restructures to make it much more cap friendly. Pollard will have to be paid like a starter or franchised.

Unlike the NFL, college never stopped being about running the ball. There are good backs coming out every year, all comes down to the significance a club places on the position.
Understood. The bigger point is we could argue there is probably suitable talent coming out in draft that could probably replace our current RB tandem. Especially if we are willing to invest similar draft capital as our current RB’s.

The franchise tag for running backs in 2022 was $9.5M (transition tag was $8M) and likely goes up a little. I think we tag Pollard next year if we can't sign him and play both again. Then after 2023 Zeke's contract is easier to cut and he'll be another year older and we will cut Zeke and sign Pollard assuming things keep going as they have been.

It's very simple in my opinion.
Tag Pollard to keep him next year.
Cut Zeke post June 1st
Either draft a RB, or look at the FA class
Barkley
Jacobs
Pollard
Devin singletary
James robinson
Damien Harris
Moestert
Rashad Penny
Jeff Wilson

Need I go on? The RB position is solved, paying Zeke no matter what the cost is not worth it.
He has no juice left
Sunk cost and move on

Zeke will not return at his current money. So IF, big if, they do try to keep Pollard it ill basically mean taking a large part of Zeke's money and giving that to Pollard.

It still amazes me how people make posts like this. Do people still think a player is willingly going to give up his salary so another player can stay in Dallas?

Who said anything about willingly? It amazes me how people can not understand how NFL contracts work. IF ZEKE returns it is CLEARLY going to be for many millions less than he currently makes. IF they keep Pollard, it means they are going to give him many more MILLIONS than he currently makes. Those are facts, not assumptions.

Zeke's agreement on this will not be needed. Zeke is going to be somewhere else next year, or Zeke is going to take much less. It is pretty obvious to anyone that pays attention.

Pollard is either going to be somewhere else or will be making MUCH more.

I think if anyone would take a paycut to stay here it's Zeke. I think, assuming he finishes the season strong, there's a high likelihood he restructures his deal to stay with Dak and the team and gives them enough $ to pay and keep TP too.

I suspect on the open market zeke would not command much given the lines of gurley and zeke’s performance over the past few years. Like 2 years 5 a year.

i wouldn’t sign him to that- I’d try to retain tp.

If I’m TP I’d like to see what I’m truly capable of
