We haven’t had good defensive tackles since Jimmy Johnson was roaming the sidelinesI said it in the wild card game thread. Our whole division has better DTs than us.
That they thought he'd make it to the PS shows how much they value the position. For starters, Cowboys should have never let go of John Ridgeway.
They do. It's disastrous unfortunately. You really need to use a premium pick to have a reasonably good shot at a great DT.They love their 2nd and 3rd round 3-Tech DTs (Tyrone Crawfod, Hill, Gallimore, Osa). Then they try finding late round/free agent DTs to be the 1-Tech (Antwaun Woods, Bohanon, Ridgeway). It's a miracle they were even interested in Hankins. I don't expect them to change that philosophy
Agreed…but our braintrust thinks otherwise: “we like our guys” One would think our FO would grow tired of teams running all over us.We all should be on the Payne train this offseason if Washington does not tag him. Lawrence has had a break out season.
No they don't worry about trivial things like run defense. If the players salary fits their requirements, then the Jones' show interest. Football ability is secondaryAgreed…but our braintrust thinks otherwise: “we like our guys” One would think our FO would grow tired of teams running all over us.
Maybe but Ridgeway is a JAG and not in the same stratosphere as guys like Lawrence and Payne. For starters, Cowboys should have never let go of John Ridgeway.
It already changed. They love their 2nd and 3rd round 3-Tech DTs (Tyrone Crawfod, Hill, Gallimore, Osa). Then they try finding late round/free agent DTs to be the 1-Tech (Antwaun Woods, Bohanon, Ridgeway). It's a miracle they were even interested in Hankins. I don't expect them to change that philosophy
Cap Boy is worried about the salary cap and wants to keep costs down. Meanwhile the Cowboys made a Billion dollars last year in non football revenue. The Joneses know all the Cowboys have to be is average and they will be the talk of the NFL.Agreed…but our braintrust thinks otherwise: “we like our guys” One would think our FO would grow tired of teams running all over us.
That's just a bunch of bs on your part. You have no idea about what you are talking about. If you don't like what they are doing now, it's just strange on your part. They are a 12 win team and favored to win the first playoff game.No they don't worry about trivial things like run defense. If the players salary fits their requirements, then the Jones' show interest. Football ability is secondary
Actually, they want to win.Cap Boy is worried about the salary cap and wants to keep costs down. Meanwhile the Cowboys made a Billion dollars last year in non football revenue. The Joneses know all the Cowboys have to be is average and they will be the talk of the NFL.
They are more worried about the bottom line. The Joneses want to horde draft picks and keep players under team control. It hurt to pay Dak that contract.Actually, they want to win.
