Thinkback to Bledsoe's INT at the end of the first

And it just goes back to there being outrageous homers, and there being people that were right.

The Romo "homers" were right. It wasn't a great performance in that game, obviously, but no one said it was. That's just a strawman you've neatly constructed. But anyone looking at that game objectively as a first performance in an NFL game should come away saying that guy has spectacular potential. Some didn't at the time. They just couldn't get past the 3 INTs when evaluating his performance.

Maybe you talked to different people.

Also, it wouldn't be a strawman. Maybe "revisionist history", if that's what you're going for. I know that isn't nearly as important-sounding, but it's probably more accurate for what you're attempting to describe.

You're attacking a position that was never held.

Reminiscing, not attacking. Not everything has to be an argument, dear.
Well, by definition it was an argument. But given that there are multiple definitions of the term, and it might not have fit under every one.

I remember I had never felt so happy after a loss. Romo didn't have a good game but he showed us the stuff he is still showing us today. All of a sudden our offense was actually moving the ball pretty well. On that day, I must say, I got a damn good night of sleep.

Romo after the game: "I wouldn't put us in the cellar just yet..."

I remember trading posts with Trick Blue (I think), after that game. We were agreeing that since Bledsoe had been pulled, BP could not re-instate him as the starter. You had to stick with Romo at that point. I said regardless of how well or how bad Romo did for the rest of the season at least it would be exciting. It has been that.

I'm so happy we've found a young franchise QB. To find one with Tony's personality is lots of extra icing on the cake.

Some of us thought the signing of Bledsoe(a garden gnome with a slingshot) was stupid from the outset...

Boy isn't that the truth.

And then there were the misinformed folks who thought Bledsoe was a "Top 10" QB going into last season!

Mindless homers.

Same.. I never thought Bledsoe was a positive thing from the beginning.

The start of something great!:starspin

who is the reciever uncovered in the endzone?(or appears to be uncovered).Barber looks like he has nothin but green in front of him.

Fasano I believe. The play was designed to go to him, but Bledsoe decided that he would go to the other side with it even though the primary receiver is wide friggin open.

Yup. I believe that's TO at the bottom and Witten sitting in the middle and Fasano a bit into the endzone uncovered. I remember reading after the game it was designed to be thrown to Fasano.

seeing that makes me sick to my stomach all over again.Damn Bledsoe!how many other QB's do you think would have seen that or thrown it to Fasano instead.(like it was called)?

I don't quite understand how there can be so much "hate" for a guy who always worked hard, tried his hardest, and was a terrific team guy who never made a peep after he was benched.

haha funny..when they threw romo in the game and he had the INT it kinda did kick the wind outta me..i was like..wut the hell?!!!

:lmao:

When DB threw the interception, I just slumped in my seat thinking, "Here we go again."

I had mixed feelings when it was announced Romo was going in. I was excited because I felt we were merely going to tread water with Bledsoe, but I was a bit disappointed as well because I felt that Bledsoe still represented our best hope at making the playoffs.

I thought Romo played well in the PS, but it was PS. I too, felt that he played a pretty good game vs the Giants. Two of his INTs were just good plays by the Giants (tipped passes I believe). But he moved the team with ease, and he seemed to have a connection with Witten and TO (something DB lacked).

I watched the Carolina game the next week relaxed. I felt that Romo was going to have a learning curve and that we'd struggle mightily. I couldn't believe what I saw the rest of the game.

Every single game after that I expected Romo to have a bummer of a game....but he just kept playing better and better. Even his "bad" games were comparable to some of the average games for QC, Hutch, and DB.

I thought he'd be ok this year. I thought he had a Cinderella-type season last year, and that we'd see an above average QB but nothing special.

I love being wrong.....He has surpassed all expectations. Finding Romo is like finding a twenty dollar bill folded up in a jacket that you forgot about.

That's an interesting opinion. I always think the outrageous homers look silly. Whether they root for Dallas, or any other team.

Maybe so, but those who kept insisting Bledsoe should be the starter looked pretty stupid too.

I mean what else did people need to see before they realized Dallas was going nowher with Bledsoe?

So yeah, any shiny new object as you say looked awfully tantalizing at that point.

I think most of us knew that Bledsoe wasn't the answer....but Romo was such an unknown. I thought that DB still was our best shot to get to the playoffs.

Seriously, how often to UDFAs turn out to be stud QBs?

I think a lot of fans thought the Bledsoe signing was stupid, but then, the previous year of watching Testeverde was too much.
