This Changes Nothing

This changes nothing?
your middle linebacker is gone, not just 10 games-hes gone. how can u say it changes nothing? If anything the news today about Smith just makes the impact that much worse. Hitchens took a big step last year-to bad it was backwards.
We also have noone on the outside. I dont think the Cowboys have any idea who their starting ends will be and Gregory's 1 toke away from same 10 game suspension.
The defense took a hit today and is in trouble. next man up if a bunch of crap. It didnt work when Romo went down, when Scandrick went down, when Free went down, or when Murray left
I think its time to trade Leary and 1 of our 5 rb's for some LB/DE help. We'll have to overpay for this temporary help (adding a draft pick) but thinking mirrors and positive thinking will do the job is a stretch. Thanks Ro-u jackass.
I'd also get rid of Gregory. Hes going done the same road and not addressing it now will just hurt us later.

You should probably step away from the ledge in the wrong direction...

McClain hasn't been a difference maker since game 6 of 2014, but he was capable. Unfortunately, this defense was already short on talent, and what talent it has isn't dependable.

Doesn't change it too much because I don't think Dallas will be a contender anyway. This will be a good season but now maybe they will see the upgrades needed on the d after going cheap and keeping meh players.

maybe I'm upset an overreacting to the news but I cant say nothing has changed. LB and DE are areas that need attention before the season starts

The Cowboys might be calling some teams to see who is willing to trade a LB for OG Leary. Before, the Cowboys might not have been willing to consider a LB for Leary.

Depends on who the LB is the team would be willing to trade for Leary. I'd pretty much consider any position outside of K and RB for a Leary trade. I would especially listen to offers of a LB or DL.

DL is far more important in this defense and much harder to find.

This situation highlights two issues for this team-- both very troubling:

1. We had precious little depth WITH McClain, and now without him our cupboard is bare.

2. The cumulative effect of these suspensions reveals a discipline and accountability problem in Dallas. The coaching staff and front office have made a habit out of "reclamation projects" in the NFL. JJ has a soft spot for troubled players. Once again-- Ro Mac has let his teammates down and now we are scrambling to find bodies just to fill out the training camp roster.

Try and minimize this all you want-- if this were the only case of stupidity on this roster you'd have a point. However-- the facts are that this team loves to roll the dice with high risk players. Trying to replace Ro is only one part of the problem. We have a culture and discipline problem that is undermining the overall functioning of the team.

The thing is, I don't think a whole lot of talent is really necessary for this team to make the playoffs...they are that good on offense. I think the defense will still be above league average, which is all the Cowboys really need to make the playoffs in my opinion.

I think we can make the playoffs behind the offense but won't go far in them with this defense, which I see as average to slightly below average ... mainly because of Marinelli. Personnelwise, we're definitely below average on defense at this point.

this is bad on lots of levels from players getting special treatment to miss offseason work this is a 6 or 8 win team if tony plays all season but I don't want to let the air out of your dream.

You're out of your mind. R-E-L-A-X

So do the Steelers too I guess

You've lost your mind

.500 isn't unrealistic. This team won 4 games last year. There are other issues on the team other than the health of the QB and WR. Not to mention we don't know what Romo will even look like being a year closer to 40.

I'll agree with you there. And I don't doubt they will have their eyes wide open for a player or two but I suspect they will wait until right before camp or final cuts to 53.

That's a bit strong.

Granted, it could happen. But I seriously doubt it. The Cowboys have holes to fill, but there is plenty of time still to do that. Step away from the panic button.
