I'll admit.. I haven't actually watched the game. I used a combination of ESPN Scorecenter updates and CZ chat to stay in tune with what was going on.

The game is recorded at home and waiting for me. Yes. I will watch every moment because, from what I felt, the team fought until the very end. I'm so proud of all of them. We all know the defense has been short on talent all season long. We also know they didn't do us many favors tonight. But when we were down 21-3 this team showed a heart the size of Texas and the resilience that makes us all sit on the edge of our seats and marvel at them.

This is not an end by any means. It is actually the beginning of something special. Yes. Deep in my heart I wanted our two prized rooks to taste a Super Bowl but I also knew the odds were not in their favor. Screw odds though... Wouldn't it have been nice? But I digress...

Think of it this way folks. Dak and Zeke have now tasted the worst type of defeat which comes on the heels of incredible expectations. This game will not be easily forgotten and this team will be back with a vengeance. Neither of those two will ever want that sinking feeling to ever return and it will drive them to greater heights.

We can all look forward to a draft that will be heavily on the defensive side of the ball. Addthose picks to the debut of Kayla n next year and things will most definitely be looked my up.

Why didn't I watch the game? Well.. My niece was getting married in Orlando this weekend and the wedding started at the exact same time as our playoff game..lol

Heads up folks. We truly do have a lot to look forward to in the coming years.

This loss probably hurt more than any other, but there is definitely a ton to be excited about. Thinking about the possibility of Jaylon Smith getting on the field, along with the other young core is exciting. If the Cowboys can hold onto some of their own while upgrading at de this team is made for a deeper playoff run.

I know a lot of us are down in the dumps right now. Hopefully those same people can see the beauty in the future potential of this team. Will we be 13-3 again? Probably not.. But we will be quite good for the next several years. There has to be a Super Bowl or two in there somewhere. It's coming.

I would've skipped the wedding. I'm not even joking. You're a better man than me ;)

This loss hurts more than just because we lost and our great season is over.
This loss compounds the feeling I had in 2014 when the refs stole that game from us.
This loss does more damage to the actual product that is the NFL.
Seeing how the league has refs who are either incompetent or malicious errodes more confidence in the product. To have 2 losses in 3 years come from awful ref calls strengthens my decision to not push this sport on my 3 sons. It's a shame that the once great NFL has become an unreliable mess that is better enjoyed casually.

But yea our core is strong...its this league that is shaky than it's ever been.

You probably could have made this exact same thread after the 2014 season. Literally, word for word, and we all saw how that went.

Come on man. Yes, people thought we were close (and rightfully so, IMO) after 2014, but what was a closing window has been busted wide open.

Romo was in his 11th year, Murray was out the door, Ware was out the door and Witten was getting older.

We have a younger QB and a younger RB, for hopefully the next 5-10 years. We certainly need to find a Ware-type, catalytic player at DE and an upgrade for Witten.

The OL is just now entering their prime.

Fix the D, find another stud WR and RT and we're ready for a run.

Go draft it. Do we have any major holes on offense to fill this draft? Probably not.

No holes on offense really. Need to figure out what to do with twill. That's about it. Defense on the other hand is quite a mess to be figured out.

Going to have to beat better opponents compared to the GB team they just lost to. I think that's doable if Dak isn't a one hit wonder, but you never know what will happen in the NFL. Hard to be consistently good in the league of parity that exists.

I felt the same way in 2007 and to a less extent in 2014. It just takes an injury or two to have a season like 2015. And we all saw how JG and crew handle that season. It's been 7 years since JG became the HC and we have 1 playoff win. I have doubts he can get us the 6th ring.

Smith is going to be important. Then go out and draft the best defensive people in the draft. See what's available in free agency. They don't need to replace everyone to get better and the offense definitely helps because there are no big needs on that side of the ball.

If we had a 4-12 season due to injuries in the next couple of seasons, it would actually go a long way to making us better with a higher draft pick and returning talent.

All Dak has to do is not get hurt. That was always the problem in the Romo Era in seasons following playoff appearances. 2008, he gets hurt and misses a few games, 2010 and 2015 he gets hurt and the season is over. We need continuity...since 2013 this core is good enough to be in the playoff race every season if healthy. They should be making the playoffs every year like Seattle

Smith will be huge. Hopefully he can play next season. One less worry to fill with the lb core then they can focus on the dl and secondary problems.

It would be nice to have Eli/Peyton decade-long stability at QB, for once.

Dak doesn't strike me as a guy who's gonna rest on this season.
