Simply not true. You have a rookie QB with his whole career ahead of him. A rookie that the team as a whole loves to play for and it shows. Rookie RB as well. Situation is similar maybe, but I like where we are right now A LOT MORE than where we were in 2014. ...... 02
Amen!

I just don't ever see us winning it all until we hire a real coach. Maybe Garrett can finally break his propensity to be a .500 coach as it is unthinkable that we could go 3 - 13 next year but here we are after almost 3/4 of a decade with Garrett at the helm losing games to slow starts, mistakes, and god awful clock management. How long does the guy get to train for a position he should have never had in the first place?

Dez showed us tonight that he stilll has it. Hopefully this fire carries on until next season.

Dude played with so much heart tonight.

Yep, actually LED on the sidelines from start to finish. He's grown up a lot and it's great to see. He and Zeke should've had 5 more touches each but that's on Linehan. Overall, the D and front 7 lost this game in the first half. Came out flat as a pancake.

I so wish I could say the same. The QB position is just one piece of a big puzzle. An important piece, but just one. I could go back to after the 2006 season after the bobbled snap. I could go back to 2007, under these exact same circumstances. Talented offensive core, led by a young QB and a better defensive core.

It's great not to be concerned about the QB of the future. But this team has questions and until they get over the playoff hump, it doesn't matter what they do in the regular season now. At least for me. We KNOW they can win with competent QB play. The team is built for that. The team needs to win in the postseason now.

Go draft it. Do we have any major holes on offense to fill this draft? Probably not.
Drafting Where We Are.. late in the first round... makes that problematic to develop or draft a core defensive players

Cheers bro! Can you imagine if we have a 2017 draft that resembles the 2016 draft in any level of proximity?
Mind blow... the only way the next draft resembles our previous one is if we get the next version of contributors like Demarcus Ware, and Jason Witten. I'm looking forward to what the Cowboys do. We have the 28th over-all pick.

BRO? 13-3 isn't failing as a coach. It wasn't coaching that beat us, it was one pass and a kick. Give credit where credit is due, Aaron Rodgers is a future HoF'er. Until last night Garrett was a candidate for Coach of the Year.

Remember the players talking about how they tune out the external (white)noise... they were talking about that diatribe you just spewed. If you want to "go back" to a certain year then go to the 1994 season when we lost the NFC championship game to the 49ers. The players from that game are well documented saying they knew right after that loss that they would remember that feeling and let that fire propel them through the next season to win the SB. That's what our young players are doing right now.

Go big or go home on defense. Trade up to get one of 4 DE in this draft. Bring back Mo for cheap and roll the dice. Just have to have a defense capable of applying pressure and we can get that long awaited ring.

Diatribe? lol Just expressing my opinion. I'm not even angry. Just frustrated about about another season ending too soon.

But for the record, I thought about the 1994 season, as well. The difference is that team had actually already won a championship. The expectations for the team were way different.

My apologies. I did come off a lil judgmental there.

I see your point about the 1994 team but the feeling of unfinished business that our young have to be feeling right now can be used to propel them to greater days.

Trade Romo for Clowney or JJ Watt.
Not a far fetched idea at all. But I don't think Houston can take on an Osweiler mistake of a salary and a Romo salary. They could definitely use a Romo though.

Today's game just really diminishes next years regular season so much for me.

It's so hard to get to where we got today and regardless of how well we play next year during the regular season it means nothing until we get right back to where we were today.

This is one of toughest Cowboys losses I've experienced.
I'd echo all of the above. This was the most painful loss to me since the loss in Carolina in '95 playoffs.

They'll trade Osweiler to someone like Cleveland or the LA Chargers. I agree, they probably can't take on both QB contracts.

Without help in FA, we will need two defense heavy drafts to catch up, unless we have another draft like 2016, assuming Smith plays and plays well in 2017.

With a QB in place that does not make bone headed plays, our window is open for 10 yrs. or more.
