If Dak comes out and plays really well, like one of his best games, I think we come out of there with a WIN. I think Purdy is going to play well because most of his passes are short to the backs and receivers. We need to tackle well and Vander Esch is really going to be tested of course but I still think it comes down to how well the QB's play. It would be sweet to get to Purdy and force a pick or two which would cause the Niners to play from behind. They said Dak's rating is top of the league when he has the lead and bottom of the barrel when playing from behind. Anyway I just wanted to share my thoughts but I want to mention one more thing. How can we expect Dak to play really well without Tyron Smith and possibly Zach Martin? This is the part that makes me worried and sick.

I've been a fan for 47 years and really can't stand the Niners since the 90's. I was there in Dallas in the 90's when both teams met in the endzone before the game and started pushing each other around. My 27 year old son is more die hard than I am and has this guy he works with is wanting to bet him $500 and give him 10 points! I told him not to do it because I don't trust Dak and Martin and Smith are banged up and thats not counting Micah and Dowdle. Sorry for the long post but I'm praying for a win but my gut says otherwise.
Well it was a 9-9 game last time late in the 3rd quarter with us having two ints. We had a mix match OL and Pollard out.

Dak had 1 legit weapon...everyone else either isn't in the league or not playing this year.

If our OL is all playing, I really like our chances this year.

Dallas wins last year if they didn't cheap shot tackle on Pollard. And Diggs makes a hit on Kittle and if Turpin didn't turn the wrong way.
And of course the 2 picks one being in scoring position didn't help either.

Dallas will win this year if they don't do the same as to any of those things not happening.
Well, Bland will have to put the hit on Kittle.

IMO…The absolute key to this game hinges on whichever team controls the line of scrimmage. The niners are a very physical team on both sides of the ball.

Can we match or exceed that? Key to the game.
Most games usually do..

I was wondering the same thing.. Will it be MMA? Boxing? Jiu Jitsu? Chess? thumb wrestling? Quiz bowl? Wordle? One on one hoops? If not.. if they're playing football.. then no.. it absolutely will NOT be Dak vs Purdy.
You know what i mean..no need to be arrogant....Dak needs to play well for us to have a chance.......

This Game is Prescott vs Purdy and don't forget that!

Whichever defense plays better, their team will win. This game is about defense. Which is why I predict a lot of FG's.

Cowboys 26 49ers 16

Even though we will be 4-1 after punching the 800-pound Gorilla in the mouth, and had to kick 4 FGs to do so, there will be a lot crying here Monday morning if that happens.

This game is about offensive and defensive lines. Whoever plays better in the trenches will win the game. If the 49ers can run the ball effectively, the Cowboys defense is in trouble. If the Cowboys offense can't run the ball effectively, the Cowboys offense is in trouble. If Dak has to throw 40 times or more the Cowboys will lose.

That said, the Cowboys may have to throw on 1st down to set up the run.

This is another game on a grass field. And you can bet the 49ers will water the field more than usual to slow down the Cowboys defense.

Where is the stat proving Dak is "bottom of the barrel when playing from behind"?

Dak has led the team from behind for wins many times throughout his career as he did last season as well. Did people forget him leading the Cowboys from behind for a win late in December last year against the Eagles and their #1 Defense?

Or how about against the Texans?

Dak would have had a 3rd come-from-behind win against the Jaguars in overtime had butterfingers Noah Brown not allowed the pass that hit him perfectly in his hands bounce up for an interception returned for a TD to end the game.

So, as we can see, Dak is actually very good at leading the team from behind for potential wins. Where is the proof Dak is "bottom of the barrel when playing from behind"?

Some of that is because if you only do one thing with a player the defense can easily defend that
I mean that's fine though. In the 90's teams knew when we were going to run a draw with Emmitt. Still couldn't stop it. I like Deuce but it's important to bring him out there in ways he can be effective. If they can't do that then maybe now is not the time to play him until they can figure that out. I also understand Rico going out forced him in last game so I'm not knocking them for that.

As a general rule I avoid betting with my heart.

That said, some one needs to put his coworker in his place. Spotting 10 points is disrespectful as hell. He'd have no problem goating me into that bet.
Absolutely, you'll win more than you lose betting any matchup if you take the points at 8.5+. Much less this matchup.

Then say that.. QBs don't play against each other no matter how many times people try to make it out like that. Of course Dak has to play well.. But there has been plenty of his games in his career where he has been lights out and the defense has let us down. Personally I think he's due for a ball out in a huge game. Haven't really seen a regular season game of this magnitude since.. Hell I can't even remember.. Maybe the Denver game back in 2013? Ironically that was the year I finally saw it in Romo's eyes that he could lead us to the Super Bowl. Not in that game but in the next to last game of the season at Washington when he led us on that long game winning TD drive with a herniated disc in his back. Until then I just never thought he had what it takes to get it done in the biggest moments. That day proved me wrong. Now I'm not saying I want to see Dak out there limping around like an old man but I'd just like to see him less calm about failure. Get pissed.. get in somebody's face.. turn over the Gatorade.. Show some fire.. Don't go sit calmly on the sideline looking at pictures or staring into space while Romo burns around him. He has to realize the extent to which the entire team feeds off of HIS energy. When he's out there running over linebackers and dragging DBs for 5 yards that fires the entire team up. He doesn't need to do it a lot.. maybe 4-5 times a game. Messes with the defense's heads and it energizes his teammates.. Oh and it moves the chains and scores touchdowns. I think he also becomes a better passer when he's good and lathered up ..

Regardless of the weapons and offensive lines around both Qbs, I have to believe that a 8 year veteran making 40 million a year has to be able to outplay a dude that only played 13 games and makes under a million dollars a year…..that’s a 39 million dollars a year difference.

Purdy can play good but Dak has to play great and I have to believe he will

If these defenses are who we think they are I don't expect either QB to look all that great to be honest. I just need our offense to scratch out 1 more point against their defense than they do against ours. I honestly could care less how the "head to head matchup" between Dak and Purdy looks at the end of the day as long as the scoreboard says Cowboys MORE and 49ers LESS.

Well, that moron Stephen A. predicted this morning that Dak would throw two INTs in each of the next four games. So it must be true that DAL has no chance. ;-)

You have to wonder if he and Dak are actually friends behind the scenes, and secretly laugh about the anti-Cowboys schtick.
