If Dak comes out and plays really well, like one of his best games, I think we come out of there with a WIN. I think Purdy is going to play well because most of his passes are short to the backs and receivers. We need to tackle well and Vander Esch is really going to be tested of course but I still think it comes down to how well the QB's play. It would be sweet to get to Purdy and force a pick or two which would cause the Niners to play from behind. They said Dak's rating is top of the league when he has the lead and bottom of the barrel when playing from behind. Anyway I just wanted to share my thoughts but I want to mention one more thing. How can we expect Dak to play really well without Tyron Smith and possibly Zach Martin? This is the part that makes me worried and sick.

I've been a fan for 47 years and really can't stand the Niners since the 90's. I was there in Dallas in the 90's when both teams met in the endzone before the game and started pushing each other around. My 27 year old son is more die hard than I am and has this guy he works with is wanting to bet him $500 and give him 10 points! I told him not to do it because I don't trust Dak and Martin and Smith are banged up and thats not counting Micah and Dowdle. Sorry for the long post but I'm praying for a win but my gut says otherwise.
Take the +10 and then place a $500 bet with the -3.5 On SF. Thats a huge middle he can play. worst case scenario he loses the vig on the 3.5 and best case scenario he wins both. Heck he can even tease the spread up to -4.5 and get rid of the vig and make it a no lose situation.

At what point do they line up across from each other on plays where they are both on the field?

When are circumstances exactly the same for both men to make a comparison?

How is it the teams are different, and therefore any assessment which pretends to single one out over the other ignores the surrounding team for each?

I might believe this hokum, if Dak and Purdy were to trade places after each series. But then each play would be required to be identical for any winner and loser to be determined. And that is sketchy as Hell as best.

We'll just wait and see at the end of the game who has the better QB stats and who wins....by the way, very elementary response...lol

I like Dak because he is a top 10 QB. Better than what 70% of the league has at QB. Hard to find those.
I don't disagree with any of that. We just have fans who go (way) too far one way or the other concerning him. Of course, they do that with a lot of players.

If both quarterbacks were of equal experience and salary cap burden I would agree that the teams around them determine the outcome, but because we have a 8 year veteran taking up 40 million of cap vs a 9 game “rookie” taking up 900k of salary cap, some of us expect our Qb to OUTPLAY the other guy.

I believe he can get it done this regular season game.

that’s fine. I‘m not alluding to the idea behind this thread as a discussion about and some expecting our QB to outplay theirs. I quoted the title and that is what I was referring to and that, IMHO, is an asinine way to look at this game from an Even somewhat knowledgeable fan‘s perspective. It shows a complete misunderstanding of the game of football. That’s why I purposely quoted the title and not any of the comments
