Yeah, details matter in a league where the difference between winning and losing can be special teams play.

The lack of attention to details with McCarthy is my biggest complaint. The stupid penalties, boneheaded mistakes, lack of time management…all areas where McCarthy has lacked.

Mike McCarthy is a good coach. But he is NOT a great coach. The difference between good and great coaches is often attention to details.
I don't even think McCarthy is a good coach.....His play calling is horrible. He can't get players into the right spot. Our offensive line has been a complete mess all season.....and yet he will tell you he likes continuity along the line......even if it means he has 5 guys playing out of position.
I just don't get it......Some of the move that are so obvious to be made....He just has refused to make them.

The thing that was monumentally stupid about that play tonight is that there was literally no way to even make a play. #27 was surrounded by Bengals. Did he think he was going to help the Cowboys get extra yardage because the ball was bouncing backwards? There is no explanation other than that the player didn't know the rules, or worse, wasn't smart enough to learn or remember them.

The Denver play was also stupid and it is all an indictment of the coaches, but there were two minor excuses in that play. Firstly, it happened to close to the LOS that grabbing the ball was more instinctive like recovering a fumble, and second, the player may not have realized it went past the LOS.

But yeah at the end of the day, it's on the coaches that this happened twice. Cutting #27 will only serve to sweep the coaches mistakes under the rug.

This is the kind of stuff you learn in high school football. Don’t touch it if it goes past the LOS!
Anyone remember this back in the 2021 season?

also if you look in this vid at mike and bones, they didnt understand about touching it after it passes the los.
evidently they still dont and think it isnt important enough to teach players about this.

The team has been undisciplined, full of dumb mistakes and highly penalized during the entire McCarthy tenure. These flaws were overlooked most of the time with the high scoring offense and defense that created a lot of turnovers.

Bones likes to gamble, McCarthy too, they probably teach them to take risks, it backfired badly tonight.

Coaches should not let players so loose, part of Dak problems is they let him free rein with the offense.
Just Dak? Can we get back to the ST concern and the obvious failure to detail or going over details with a newly elevated player from the practice squad? This is like Zeke getting crucified for coming out for a breather, followed by a Tony Pollard fumble against NYJ in the red zone that Zeke got ripped for. (Remember that......Sam Darnold was the Jets QB and we lost). Now can we get back to ST problems? See how that played out?

I'm not making a list of all the fiascos on this team, QB is the most important and influential position on any franchise, so he should be payed more attention and looked as an example. My comment is about discipline and coaching on the team.

You can get back to STs problems any time you want buddy. I don't see how anything played out about what you wrote, I just see you got triggered. I'll comment anything I like.

Maybe if a Brooks is out there blocking the gunner like he has been much of the year instead of a guy literally just activated off the practice squad, this doesn't happen.

But this is the kind of domino effect that happens when you have to force a dumb Jerry trade piece like Mingo on the field who doesn't play special teams. And BTW, doesn't add anything as a WR either.
Great point. We can basically tie everything back to Jerry and Stephen.

My biggest beef with him this year is how long it took him to accept Rico is our best back.

Going back to camp there were reports he was far and away the best rb we had, yet it takes MM half the season before he stops his stupid committee approach.

I'm not sure it's stupidity or lack of coaching. I think it's more of putting yourself before the team. That's a real culture problem within this organization.

For peace sake.........Cooper you were important and influential last night. You gave us your all in that department. That's for my friend Gonzo.
