Don't get me wrong. Dak is a B+ QB. I feel he is a great leader and a hard worker. The problem I feel with Dak is that he has tunnel vision at times and most importantly he has it in the most crucial times. I don't know if it's the higher pressure causing it but I have seen enough over the years to know it's a problem. Here it is. For whatever reason he doesn't go through his reads and he doesn't always hit the receiver that is his best option. That blown up pass to Tolbert, Ferguson is wide open down the middle. That pass to Schoonmaker at the goal line. Man Cooks is wide freakin open and Dak never looks that way. He goes to the I guess the first guy in his progression and boom Eagles have the ball. And that's the difference from being good to great. The Bradys, the Manning's the Montana's and Mahome's make these plays. For whatever the reason, Dak doesn't more times than not. And this team will never get over the hump until that is solved. I hope like hell that McCarthy and Schottenheimer are going over it with Dak and telling him, "We've got to make these reads and hit the open guy." Don't get me wrong. I do like him. I do feel he's a good QB. He's just not great and that's what this team needs right now.

and the game is too fast for Dak.
Both of these are correct. These have my sentiments all along. Look. Both comments both go together. This is year 8. You expect this from your franchise QB maybe the first couple years (3 years just to give the benefit of the doubt). The reality is, there is nobody else out there (that is available) that is better (at the present moment). We can gripe about the money all day long. He's not being paid top dollar. He's being paid the going rate now... It was top rate at the time he renewed.
All of that to say this, As frustrated as some of are with Dak, we have bigger issues. Our O'line is weak. Steele got thrown around like a ragdoll Sunday night. Dak needs blockers... Dak is going to get flattened if something doesn't happen soon. We have several positions that need to be upgraded. Once upgraded, send those existing players (that we upgrade) down to the practice squad. With the current practice squad people, weed them out.

It’s important to understand what we are critcizing when we do it. As a quarterback you don’t just go out there and make plays. You have plays that are called. You have pressure in your face. You have reads….on the Schoonmaker play it’s designed to go to Schoonmaker. Not Cooks. Cooks was not his first read. He also has pressure directly in his face thanks to the right side of his line. It looks easy to you as a fan but you aren’t being realistic.

There was nothing wrong with the Schoonmaker play. If Ferguson does what he’s suppose to do Schoon walks into the touchdown.

:facepalm: :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Those 2 plays have been explained already. Some of you simply don't understand what's truly going on, the hot read, the pre-snap choices against said defensive formations, etc.

On the throw to Schoonmaker at the goal line, the Blitzer coming from the right side between G and T reached Dak within a split second, untouched, thus would have not left Dak time to release the pass had Dak decided to throw it to Cooks on the right side instead.

Watch the tape properly over and over. Go to the 10:51 minute mark...

Replay it over and over. Pay close attention.

Also, on the Jalen Tolbert throw on 4th and long which turned into an incompletion, the reason Dak passed up Ferguson was because as the video analyzer said, there was a 3 defender bracket covering both CeeDee and Ferguson at the same time at the line of scrimmage since both were aligned next to each other. The Eagles knew all they needed was to bracket both CeeDee and Ferguson for the first few seconds in order to force Dak to quickly look elsewhere since the pressure was coming.

Go to the 17:05 mark...

The game is so fast that he threw for 370 yards and 3 tds with no run game and Steele getting killed lol.

He's prone to mistakes, so in tighter moments he's even slower physicallly and with his reads (and he's slow anyway). It's why he can't play from behind. Or can't win games without the defense creating turnovers. He's a middle of the pack QB that people hype has more because he had 10 game winning streak with a hall of fame O line and 1700 yard RB.
Real talk. Tally all of the QBs from 2016, including Daks and see where he ranks. You bring up a hall of fame OL and 1700 RB....ummm,,you want him to do this on his own? Without a good OL and a good running game? Don't EVERY team want that? Don't ever FAN want this for their QB and RB? I'm trying to find the logic or sense in your statement.

Smh....The Bradys, Mahomes, and Montanas miss open receivers too....I guarantee you. Dak had barely enough time to get the pass off to Schoonmaker. Passing lane didn't exist with the blitz. What are you watching? You're trying to fault Dak, but sound silly doing it.

logic and sense have no place in the Dak war.. our strength the generational defense gives up 28 points before the 4th qaurter and the loss goes to the QB who was running for his life all game while keeping us in the game...

If Dak had actually scanned the field and saw the blitzer, football 101 is you throw where the blitzer is coming from because there will be an open area there. In this case it was Cooks standing wide open in the end zone.

Complete nonsense.

First off, "Film Room" is an awful channel who picks favorites, makes excuses, and rarely talks actual concepts. It's honestly embarrassing how many Cowboys fan channels purporting to breakdown film know next to nothing about what is happening on the field. But that's what this fan base needs to stay hopeful.

Secondly, he says nothing about Ferguson on that play. He talks about CeeDee being doubled.

Thirdly, the guy you're trying to say is bracketing Ferguson literally has his back to Ferguson and heads up field the other way.

Fourth- there was no "pressure coming" on that play.

Funnily enough, you get quoted by a resident moron talking about people not knowing what they're looking at. This kind of stupidity is why I don't waste my time here anymore. The fact this play has been memory holed by all of the Cowboys official shows just reinforces the ignorance of this team and fan base.

Take care. You won't be seeing me.

In the past Dak has not been a great reader of the field. He has been much better lately though. His problem is people scrutinize him with electron microscopes so every little thing he does wrong gets blown way out of proportion.

My problem with Dak is he has been prone to second half of the season breakdowns. In the past his mechanics would be flawed late in the season leading to inaccuracy.

If he has one consistent problem it is that he does not look to throw the ball away to avoid a bad sack and loss of yardage. I think his unwillingness to throw it away also leads to forcing the ball into coverage sometimes. He has been better about that so far this year.

Dak is better than the criticism he gets, but not in teh top echelon of QBs. But if you looked at Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Herbert or anyone the way we look at Dak they would all fail. Even Mahomes does dumb stuff sometimes.

this goes back to high school and college. these kids playing QB these days are taught to take hot or 1st read on some plays not to mention they are taught to read only half the field. it gets ingrained in them through high school and college and when they get to pros people complain they cannot read the whole field miss receiver etc etc. look at the air raid guys in NFL. outside of maholms they all suck at reading a defense. you have to adjust NfL offense to be more simple to get them in the grove to reading defenses.

Wrong! There was no throwing lane. The Blitzer was covering that throwing lane and actually already on Dak within a split second of hiking the football.
