And that's the problem. They are typically a "good" team. They are never a "great" team.

Now every once in awhile they can be a "bad" team, and to be fair given the lame duck status of McCarthy this could be a team that gives up and implodes on themselves, but more often than not they are a "good" team. Just never a great team. Good teams win divisions here and there and make the playoffs. But they also get bounced early and are never a threat.

That's Dallas. Rarely bad, mostly good, never great. And that's all because the GM is cheap and at some point in his GM tenure became scared of taking risks and pushing the chips all in.

Yes, this is my take too.

We're good at rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The playoffs are the iceberg we always run up against. That said, there was a shortage of deck chairs this year and I don't see us making the playoffs. This will be one of those down years. We had too many holes to fill in the off-season. We continue to fail at shoring up the talent needed to stop the run and run the ball.

Dallas only appears to be good these last few years because the division is one of the worst in the league besides the Eagles. You can almost bet you will get 4-5 wins a year from that alone.

Imagine a QB that plays about as a good as Gardner Mineshew. Now instead of paying him 2 years / 25m you make him the highest paid qb in league history. That's who you have right now, a Gardner Minshew talent level at 240m.

Let’s face it…the only reason we’re decent from year to year is because we mostly beat up on our own division teams every season. If we went 3 - 3 or 2 - 4 in division play, then we would miss the playoffs. So, thank you…Giants, Commanders, and sometimes Eagles.

It depends on their competition.

They are a good team against the worst teams in the NFL.

They are not a good team against the above average teams.
I think the team is middle to top half of the pack.

Like you said they can beat bottom feeders, but they don't have an answer in the playoffs when the cream has risen to the top.

U cant be a great team without an elite QB or a great defense paired with a dominant running game. U have to have one.

The cowboys have a good QB and a defense that is really good when they can get consistent pressure on the QB. But if they can't generate pressure, this defense is closer to the bottom of the league.

There is not a single team in all of North American sports that has its owner as GM. We act as if the Cowboys are a normal team in professional sports, we are NOT.

There is absolutely no accountability for DECADES of failure.

Does anyone believe that if Jerry was immortal and lived to 1000 years old he EVER reach the status of GM???? And even if he reached that status he would have been fired 10 times over at this point.

As long as the Jones family is the GM of the club we will all SUFFER..... PERIOD... I wish it wasn't the case but fact are facts

EDIT: "This is a good Team" - Please give me what you are having.

This team has no one on offense outside of Lamb. Not one person that is dynamic. It will be our undoing without a trade
We don't need dynamic. We need to Blu collar execute and we can't even do that.
