Naturally teams whose playoff chances are over can throw caution to the wind and play spoiler the rest of the season which makes them dangerous. The Cowboys will be facing that situation in Washington in week 16 and we all know the Commanders would love to help keep the Cowboys home for the playoffs again.

I agree that is why it is important to jump on a team like that early to get their heads on vacation instead of winning. You allow a bad team to hang in there, their will to win take over

So teams tend to play better in those games that matter less?

The biggest mistake is to let a team like that hang around. The Cowboys can't afford to let any team hang around because they've blown several games in the second half. They have to develop a killer instinct and put teams away especially teams that are playing for next year.

I agree. I think this team has talent what I think they have lacked is the killer instinct. We put ourselves in position to take control of the game but then turn right around and do things to hurt ourselves. I can deal with a beat down by an opponent but it is hard to swallow losing a game you had control in. Bad teams can jump up and bite a good team if they start smelling a chance at a win.

Well, you are at the right place if you really want an answer to that question. The only problem is you will have to wait to answer accurately because those new categories keep coming. As the categories get kicked to the curb new ones climb out from under the same rock. Those categories/classifications are like roaches in an apt complex. They just keep coming and coming . . . . . . . .

I have always believed that EVERY game is a must win until you lock down the #1 seed in the playoffs....I would hope that we dont have coaches/players that think differently....otherwise it changes how you play/call the game.

while I understand that view, you cannot say every game is a must win since if you say that, what happens if you lose, do you fold the tent and give up?

People talk about the Eagles like they're some juggernaut. They aren't that good. They play in this lousy division also so they have benefitted as we have. Foles will be exposed before this season ends and their defense has given up almost as many points as Dallas. They don't scare me. We beat them already and if we can't beat them at home then we deserve to go home. Having said that this is not a must win. Even if we are a game behind the Eagles in 17 if we beat them to tie them we go. They can't break a division tie even if we lose to Wash. As we would be 5-1 in division if we win be Eagles.
