Again, I still don't know why Jerry Jones is being blamed for the current state of the Cowboys.

This guy brought in all of this talent.

Yes, he brought in Wade Phillips but can you clearly claim that there was another candidate that was head and shoulders better?

I love what Jerry Jones has done, this is on Wade Phillips and the players.

Time to wake up from your dream into reality.

Jerry will NEVER SELL the team. I would rather have an owner who cares and spends $$ to win vs one who doesnt (ie the York family in SF).

Jones has managed to put together one of the most talented rosters in NFL history; he has done his job and has done it well. I blame the players and Wade.

:laugh2:

One, BP and Ireland are responsible for much of the talent.

Two, even then, much of the talent is clearly overrated.

Three, even if the talent were equal to a Roll Royce, only an idiot would turn around and hand the keys over to a known loser, retread like Wade. Not to mention also creating a situation of putting Wade in a position where he is only a short term puppet coach with Garrett waiting in the wings and hiring other coaches that clearly weren't Wade's decison.

Jerry creates this kind of total dysfunctional situation and then he still has certain people still wondering "how can Jerry be blamed for this?"

You can laugh all you want, it is totally foolish and asinine to blame Jerry Jones for the current state of the Dallas Cowboys.

I love how you want to give all the credit to Ireland and Parcells, besides there have been a ton of thread breaking down just how many people are on this team that Parcells didn't bring in. Don't want to go down that road, that is what the search button is for.

And what dysfunctional situation has Jerry Jones created?

Everyone coach in the NFL would love to coach the type of talent on this team.

But you may have been a Norv Turner guy, so it won't matter.

You should change the caption in your signature to: "The sole reason the Cowboys won three of their five Super Bowls and are still in Dallas"

The majority of the draft picks from '03-'06 were BP/Irelands guys.

Hiring an OC before the HC. Hiring other coaches that clearly wasn't the HC's call. Any GM worth his salt would give the HC total control over his own staff. You can't tell me Campo was Wade's decision. And neither was Houck.

Also, Jerry has no problem trying to emmulate Al Davis and bring in troubled players or try to throw money at guys with no regard for chemistry or character.

That, my friend, is called creating a dysfunctional environment.

But you may have been a Norv Turner guy, so it won't matter.

Not quite. Too bad Wade and Norv were the only two options Jerry could come up with. Notice how in a year and a half both Wade and Norv have pretty much ruined their respective teams. That Jerry, he's got some eye for coaching talent. :laugh2:

Yep and Jerry was still the owner, GM and had final say so on those decisions.

I don't feel like researching this, but many teams have hired an OC before the Head Coach, that is definately not rare.

Yep, he took a chance on Pacman, but he also took a chance on Owens and Tank, so right now Jerry Jones is 2 for 3.

Again, tell me who was by far a better option than Wade Phillips? Mike Singletary or the former defensive coordinator for the Bears, who is now a Linebackers coach or something?

He brought Wade Phillips in here because he had a defensive reputation.

This is not Jerry Jones' fault. The guy has given Wade Phillips everything he needs to win, even gave him Roy Williams last week and he still continues to lose.
