It's utterly ridiculous to base an opinion on one play from several years ago. How about accusations of "stupidity"? That's another weapon, right?

He's not condemning him on one play. He's offering a sample of Kosier's handiwork, trying to explain why he's been a journeyman up to this point. Lord knows there's many more examples that haven't surfaced on Youtube.

So, if I find a video of Tom Brady throwing an INT in high school, that makes him a bad QB now???

Just want to know the ground rules here . . .

Stupid analogy. We know Brady is a winning, Super Bowl qb. Conversely, we know Kosier is an underwhelming journeyman lineman. You make it sound like we drafted Kosier and don't know what we have on our hands yet. We do.

Drawing a conclusion from a small sample size is an exercise in futility. You cant even draw the conclusion that Kosier had a bad game that game much less he is a bad player.

Arrington cheated on the play and sprinted up field to hit Kosiers shoulder before he even turned upfield. LA wouldve been blown up in such an instance. Really what this should demostrate is how Arrington's freelancing causes problems. Look at the area behind Arrington: ITS WIDE OPEN.

He got lucky that time but Arringtons tendency to be overaggressive burns him more than it helps.

No "we" don't. And if the analogy is stupid so is X-dawg for orginally making it, and you for defending it.

That was the point. Nice to see you're not too far gone to recognize it.

Yes, he is condemning him on one play. No there aren't any more examples like that from last season or this preseason.

He's been in the league a number of years and is now on his third team. The conclusion is already drawn, and not by Xdawg.

Yes, the conclusion was drawn by Jeff Ireland, Bill Parcells, and Jerry Jones that he is our starting LG and deserves a nice check.

Funny, I would think that failing with your first team and then never being heard from again is a more likely indicator. I guess Ireland and Parcells aren't quite up on your "conclusion."

Has the management at SF or Detroit ever made a mistake?? Maybe they missed the boat on Kosier... How do you know they didn't?

Not a valid argument since Mariucci brought Kosier with him from SF to the Lions.

Its his third team, but second coaching staff. ANd quite frankly I consider the Lions letting him walk away as an endorsement.

Many scouting reports had him highly rated. Additionally he was traded for by the Lions its not as if he was simply castoff by the Niners. He chose not resign with the Lions (who can blame him) and voila he is here.

Bottomline is that his play all preseason has been head and shoulders above Arrington broadsiding him on a runblitz.

Jerry: not a football guy. Wouldn't know Roman Gabriel from Peter Gabriel.
Tuna: as many misses as hits, esp on the o-line.
Ireland: good draft in 2005 (IF Canty produces); shaky one so far in 2006.
