This Is Why I Am Thankful To Have Jerry Jones

Good thread; great initial post.

Jerry has been a fantastic owner and I believe he truly cares about the people working with/for him.

I think Jerry's character is what has attracted so many players to him. Irvin is a great example. Jerry stood by him when common sense said not to. Jerry develops a very strong sense of loyalty among many of the players.

I also understand the needless jabs so many people take. I've been a member here for a while but do not post a ton for that very reason. I love to read about Cowboys' news, but choose to do so without the other stuff. That said, the good posters on this site far outnumber those with issues. I've had personal correspondence with a few and they are all of very high character.

I feel confident Jerry will take care of the people impacted by the collapse of the facility. I also believe (and I'm probably in the minority on this point) that he will build us another winning team. He has changed his GM style more than once since taking ownership of the Boys. What gets lost in all of this is just how tough it is to win a playoff game, much less a Superbowl. I think Jerry will get it done again before he retires.

Thanks Jerry for taking care of your family, and in some strange fandom way, ours too!

That's all nice and good, but the buffoon still can't run a franchise.

Thank you Jerry Jones ... please step out of the way.

JFYI - constant self-righteousness is just as bad as constant negativity

can you give some examples of this so we can talk specifics?

so my lack of posting bothers you in a topic centered around someone ALWAYS posting about hating jones.

I'm all for having a very nice, compassionate person own the team. I would hope most owners were compassionate towards their employees/players.

I mean my grandfather was the kindest, humblest, nicest man I've ever known. But would I want him making personnel decisions for the Cowboys? No.

You know Jimmy Johnson and BP were known to be hard***es and sometimes ruthless. But I'd much rather have them running the show than someone who he is just compassionate and nice but a poor GM.
As usual, you're spot on.

What made these people bashing you fans to begin with was the product on the field. Evidently, that doesn't matter any more. The man who's led the team into one of it's longest periods of failure since the franchise's inception is somehow above reproach because he's a charitable guy away from the game.

no, your need to announce it like you're rising above it, is what's self-righteous, like how you're the only one with sense to leave

and nothing fixes that faster than saying I HATE JONES! every time his name is brought up.

i don't know which is setting yourself up more for failure - rooting for the cowboys or trying to baby-hate jones out of office.

you mistake people not diving into the hate parade as people buying totally into jones. last i checked, there were more than 2 options to things.

It is rather bizarre. Some fans are perfectly ok if the team sucks as long as the owner/GM is a nice guy. It's obvious some are more of a fan of Mr. Jones than they are of the Cowboys.

Jerry Jones deserves to be criticized, but should he be criticized about everything? Literally, I mean.

I think what is needed is a bunch of forward thinking people to get together and buy a huge billboard to voice their displeasure.

I read this post with a bite of cheeseburger in my mouth that I made this evening for dinner. You were almost responsible for me choking to death at my computer desk.

Dang HF, I'm sorry. I'll try harder next time I act like a smart ***. Nice of you to share your cheeseburger with your monitor though.
