This is Why We Are Spoiled As A Fanbase

I don't think the fans are the ones that are spoiled, .. we still feel the pain. We suffer through each season. We know we suck lately, .. just ask other fan-bases.

I think it is the players that are spoiled. They still make tons of money, they still enjoy national popularity. They still live the life of a rock star. They still think they are an elite franchise, ... even though they have not won a playoff game in over 10 years.

They still enjoy all of the perks of being a Dallas Cowboy without having done anything to earn it.

We have played 49 seasons in the NFL. It took Tom Landry until his 6th year to have a .500 or above season, and his 7th season to rise above .500.

The Cowboys have had 25 seasons with double digit regular season wins. 12-4 is the most common record for 16 game seasons. They have achieved that mark 7 times.

32 of the Cowboys 49 seasons they have had an above .500 record.

Twice they have been a .500 team.

That means 34 out of 49 seasons, 69.4% of the time, this team is at least a .500 team. Only 15 times have they failed to reach .500 and 6 of them were the first 7 years of existence. Those are 6 of Landry's 8 years with a below .500 record.

No wonder we hate Dave Campo.
I was spoiled before this offseason. Now I have identified the Cowboys in my mind as a team that is similar to the Oakland Raiders, yesteryear was the golden age/s.

Now the Dallas Cowboys are a model for underachievement at best in the last 12 to 13 years with not a playoff victory.

Spoiled, for me, has expired. Now I expect the Dallas Cowboys to invent new and innovative ways to be mediocre all the while Jerry makes butt loads of cash from his fooling of hopeful fans.

Hate Dave Campo the HC not the DB coach, I love his enthusiasm but I dont appreciate the 15-33 tenure he had here has HC.

Cant forget the best win percentage (as of middle of last year) in NFL history and 8 time conference champs

Nods, I blame the down years on Jerry Jones. He is the one that thought *he built the Cowboys* of the 90s. Clearly, he was the downfall of the Cowboys when he canned Jimmy.

Hostile,

Sorry I am late to the party, but I do enjoy these reminders pertaining to the success this franchaise has had over the decades.

Add this one to the list: Even though Dallas hasn't won a postseason game in over 12 years, Dallas still leads the NFL in postseason wins.

Granted, Dallas got passed by Pitt in Super Bowl wins, but the Steelers have had a 27 year head start - and they are still 2 behind Dallas in Conference Titles.

Yippee, I'm not the only one who feels this way. I guess misery loves company.:)

Seriously, Super Bowl XXX left me with an empty feeling. Maybe it's because the game was too close for comfort. Maybe deep down inside I knew that we wouldn't be back on the big stage for a loooong time. On the surface, I felt like the Cowboys were strong enough to contend a while longer, but free agency ate away the roster and the coaching staff. And Jimmy had already left. I feel depressed just thinking about it.

People who call us bandwagon fans haven't been paying attention. You have to be diehard to follow the Dallas Cowboys. There is a lot of pain involved.

Count me in too. I was feeling good about that game until the second half... Ernie Mills was eating the Boys secondary alive with that slant route and Bam Morris was unfazed when Deion dove beside his ankles and tried to knock him over with his gust of wind tackle... lol. We had to settle for Larry Brown as MVP and he got torched except for those two gift ints by O'Donnel.

He doesn’t seem to grasp that. He has seen every victory, every playoff game, every Super Bowl and assumes everyone else has. There is a very large growing Cowboys fan base that has seen very little success. Like i said, it does not apply no matter how much it’s barked up someones butt.

This post will not get you any accolades in here.

Oh, and IT IS TRUE. I agree.

It was like 2 different games. First half was one game and second half was another game.

Some have a problem giving Larry any credit.... but in my eyes, he still had to catch the ball.... TWICE

No question in my mind that the momentum in that game turned on the Irvin interference call. Don't get me wrong, it was the right call. It just seemed to suck all the wind out of the Dallas offense. I honestly believe that if the Cowboys score a TD there, it turns into a blowout. Oh well, we will never know.
