I had the title “Trap game?” Some mod changed it to what it is now. My point is that I don’t know if it is or will be or not. I’m hoping that this years team can change the narrative.

That's the thing. lotta people trot around our 2021 #1 offense. Divisional record. All that is fine....but it seems when we go braggy, or the spot light...or the stakes to REALLY make a point, we folded.

Now....would be a good time to change that. It's still early in the season....but this could be a game that pushes us. Or else we have to start over again.

Trap game? We are a 3 point home favorite playing with a backup QB. We may lose but it sure as heck isn’t because it’s a trap game IMO. It’s barely more than a 50/50 matchup.

In past years, this would be a loss. Is THIS team different? This is a huge test for the Cowboys. Time to show that this team is different.

Never considered divisional opponent as a trap game. A team like Detroit who will will play later on is in my view a trap game. Lions looked much improved losing some close games could trip a team up

I watched first half Eagles / Commodores and the DC Defense not that bad they have some pieces front 7 they’ve drafted enough D line first round last decade or so . Wash hung around but the offense could do nothing .

Dallas needs a similar blue print Sunday . Don’t abandon the run because it will let Rush and the receivers open up downfield . 24-13 . The calls to replace Wentz will start , dude hangs on to the ball so long this should be a 5 or 6 sack grocery run for the D.

Even the media has gone from burying the Cowboys to digging them up and putting them in the top 10 now. Making Rush into PManning. Yes this is the type of game where the defense has gotten so much praise by fans and media, that it can go to their heads and then lay an egg. Making Wince look like Montana. Personally i do expect the defense to do their thing, but one can never know for sure. It will be interesting.

You were right in your title....

This is a strange one because division foes are hard to sleep on but Dallas is def riding high and probably a bit overconfident in an offense that has been pretty mediocre.
Rivera has to know if he is going to beat Dallas he needs to do it before Dak is back.
Really big game for them.

If the Cowboys become complacent after winning two straight dog fights they really have problems and I don’t hear anyone saying how good they are. We’re playing with a backup QB who’s just trying to keep the bus he’s driving on the road. We’re winning games with our defense. We ranked 23rd in offense and have scored half the points we scored last year at this time. If we show up against anyone not ready to play we’re going to get our butts handed to us!

I see what you're saying but trap games usually come after a team has been destroying their opponents and get a little to full of themselves.

This team has been scratching and clawing to get their wins so I don't expect they are to full of themselves at this point.

It does have that 'anything can happen playing a divisional opponent' feel to it, though.

I think that there's at least quite a few analysts and pundits who are picking the Cowboys to win. And many are starting to jump on the Cooper Rush hype train, even believing him to be better than Dak, Which is why some consider this to be a potential trap game.

Who the hell is talking about how good this team is? They are a FG in the final seconds away from going into overtime and potentially being 1-2.

I mean half the board thinks Rush is the second coming of back-up QB Jason Garrett.

This team has potential.

The defense is what has helped this team win, and they will only get better as a team, as the year progresses, imo.

They always move the goal posts.

People talking about how good this team is quickly became they have potential.

And I've seen a lot of "This offense is rolling with Cooper Rush" types of takes. And have the belief that this offense is either more high powered or harder for defenses to stop with Cooper Rush as the QB.
