Some people here are blaming our passing game for the lack of ability to run.
I'm blaming the passing game for the lack of ability to win games. How well you run has nothing to do with winning games if you can't pass. It would make no sense to defend an offense as if it can pass downfield when it's obvious that it can't, so teams are stacking the box and daring us to pass. That's why I said we may see more of the kinds of runs we saw with Kitna in 2010. We got 96 yards on those two toss plays. We had 8.6 YPC today. Big deal.

If you can't pass and stop the pass, you don't win.

FIFY.

Listen... I don't even want to be a Garrett defender, but arguments like these make me take that position. You've never seen a team lose its franchise QB and implode? Do you remember that 2011 Colts team?

Generally you would expect a significant decline in performance when a teams franchise QB is out for most of the season. However, when you still have a pro bowl WR, TE, OT, OG, OC, DE, two potential pro Bowl LBs and 3 first round draft picks, you would expect your HC to manage more than 1 win in 9 tries. That is all on the HC.

To say that injuries, especially at QB, brought this team down to one of the worst in the league is to cover up many other weaknesses that exist. The coaches would love to sweep everything under the rug but it is their responsibility and job to prepare the TEAM to compete and put them in positions to succeed, never mind their weaknesses. Total failure on their part, especially Garrett. Linehan and Marinelli also playing a huge part in this debacle. Game plans have been dismal and predictable.

Obviously, Garrett is not going anywhere yet and the other two of the stooges may not as well. Jerry will probably let them off the hook and as we have seen has already taken credit on some of this manure. Be prepared to see them all back next year------good grief.

Well if we stopped the GB run today, we would had a better chance. You better stop the run when a team is running it 50% of the time. If they are passing it 65%-70% u better stop the pass.

We haven't run it 50% all year.

The defense did enough to give any team a chance to win. A competent offensive team.

We don't have that. So you get what we witnessed.

Agreed, I was responding to the you have to pass and stop the pass to win statement.

Our offense is horrible. At minimum we need a new OC and some new plays. I don't think we change the entire offense until Romo retires.

But the sorry sad sick truth of it is, we won't get that.

Absolutely, no way. No how.

It is very depressing.

I think you are right about needing a new OC....Yet, I don't think it will happen, merely because it will take at least 2yrs for this team to get the new system down.....Romo just doesn't have the time/window to learn and be productive in a new system.....

We ran it 50% today.

When Green Bay went up 21-7 with less than 5 minutes left, Dallas had 21 passes and 19 runs. If you take away our possession that started with 47 seconds left in the first half, we had 18 passes and 18 runs.

Down by two scores with less than 5 minutes left, 10 of our next 11 plays were passes, and suddenly our pass/run ratio is 60/40.

We didn't lose this game because we passed more than ran, we passed more than we ran because we were losing. We were losing because we can't throw anything more than 10 yards downfield.

So what is the coach doing about our passing game? Whats been done to make our passing game more effective? If we haven't done anything why not?

No I don't take Romo being injured as an excuse. Other teams won with their backups. Why can't we?

I'm not impressed with our probowl WR - people are single covering him now. Last 12 games he played only over 100 yards once. Not a probowler this year.
Our probowler Tightend doesn't really scare any defensive coordinators either.

If that mouth breather from NY can do it, I'm pretty sure Romo can without any issues. Romo is pretty smart dude. As far as ages go, Eli is only 1 year younger than Romo.

I seriously think we are the worst team in the entire NFL right now. I think the Browns with Johnny Football would probably beat us and Mariotta and the Titans would beat us as well.

I really cant think of a team in the NFL that we would be favored against right now................how ****** sad is that.:(

I never said we lost because we didn't run it 50%. We lost because Matt Cassel and our offensive scheme is terrible.
