This organization is so unlikeable

For at least 25 years now, I've always thought how I'd never root for this team if I didn't grow up in north Texas with a dad who was a fan and a grandpa who used to go watch them at the Cotton Bowl.

Not so much because of the individual players, but because I like franchises who just focus on the game itself, make legitimate efforts to field the best teams possible, and otherwise stay fairly under the radar. Obviously with Jerry, this franchise is the exact opposite of all those things.
It used to be you could say things like: Well at least we're not the Lions or Well at least we're not the Browns or At least Washington/Oakland has an Idiot owner as well. As time goes on, those become less and less true.

We need more fans calling the players out to their face. Call it what you want. I don’t really care. But the people in the organization from the top down need to know how embarrasssing it is to be a fan of this team. Like people are literally not letting people know they are cowboys fans, or they don’t wear their cowboys shirt or hat out in public. Hahaha I mean think about that. The players and coaches and especiallly the Jones family needs to know that. Every time somebody sees the Jones in public they need to be bashed repeatedly. This stadium worker I say kudos to him! Why was he fired? I don’t get it. For saying embarrassing? Shows you how soft this franchise is
Wait….they fired that dude?? Wow.

I asked AI for a detailed explanation. Nielsen ratings, as well as others, factor into viewership/advertising dollars given to each team.

Over-the-air (OTA) television viewed through an antenna can be included in Nielsen ratings. Nielsen specifically measures OTA households as part of its TV audience panels. Nielsen notes that data from smart TVs and cable/satellite set-top boxes alone do not capture OTA viewing, which is one reason Nielsen continues to use its panel-based measurement systems.

In practical terms:
  • If your household has been selected as part of a Nielsen panel, your OTA viewing can be measured.
  • If you simply watch TV with an antenna and are not part of a Nielsen-measured household, your individual viewing is not directly counted. Nielsen estimates total audiences from its sample households.
  • Nielsen reports that OTA households remain a significant portion of U.S. TV homes, with roughly 18-20% of TV households having OTA capability in recent measurements.

So the short answer is: Yes, OTA viewing is captured by Nielsen ratings, but primarily through Nielsen's measurement panels rather than by tracking every antenna user individually.
Now ask AI to try and explain to you how the TV contracts work and how even if you were a Neilson household Jerry still wouldn't make one thin dime off you watching the game OTA. Cable or streaming as well assuming you you're not paying the subscription fee specifically to watch Jerry's boys.

So in other words you didn't even read or maybe understand what you posted. I'm not part of their panel dummy.
You don’t have to be. Nielsen picks households to be part of their survey’s and base OTA viewership based on that. More viewership for Cowboys games, more advertising revenue goes into Jerry’s pockets.

The point is, that Nielson survey result doesn't change one iota whether I watch the game off an antenna or clean up my garage. Literally no difference.

We all know how this is going to end. "Alexa, go find another team!"

It doesn’t care if you clean up your garage, but if you’re watching, you’re giving Jerry money.

Doesn’t seem like many here have ever taken a statistics class in college.

You didn't post any proof. Explain how the random person filling out his Nielson survey knows if I'm watching off an antenna. He doesn't.

But that's fine, I'm done engaging the biggest troll on the board.
 Apparently, it’s over your head.

I agree, but I'm sure his initial reaction was just instinctive. He's a restricted area, a comment like that, in that place, probably caught everyone off guard.
I agree it probably was just instinctive he couldn't hold it when he saw Dak.
It just came out like a bad free throw and he couldn't get it back.

But previously he had probably been stewing on it running all the horrible plays through his head and as soon as he saw Dak The strain was more than he could bare and he just blurted it out.

Funny part is this guy wasn't even a Cowboys fan and it frustrated him to the point where he had to speak out so you know it had to be pretty bad.

I guess it probably bothers some people how someone can absolutely suck that bad at their job and still manage to get paid in a year what a whole neighborhood of wage earners makes in a lifetime

I’ve been a fan of this team for over 40 years and I’ve never been more embarrassed than now and it has nothing to do with wins and loses.

No matter what happened on the field there were always players that you knew were good guys, played the game the right way and actually cared.

There is nobody on this team like now.

Maybe it’s a sign of the times and just the way the League is now but it’s quite obvious that the players don’t care about fans and, in fact, actually have disdain for them.

You have an owner who threatened to fire a radio host because he had the nerve to ask him a tough questions; this mindset has permeated down to the players. Two years ago, Diggs told a reporter “Deez Nuts” when his effort was questioned, and rightfully so after refusing to get his nose in there and tackle a guy running upfield, acting like a adolescent child. They drafted a DL who said that he didn’t even like football, he just likes to hit people. They traded for a guy, Gary, who after a game, is jumping around, swearing walking into the tunnel after finally making a few plays while his play has been pedestrian since he got here.

Then you have Dak. Here’s a guy who it should be easy to root for. From his meager upbringing, to his brother, to his injury, to being the starter of the Dallas Cowboys, it’s now obvious that he’s just like all the rest. While his play on the field has always been up and down, the one thing you could say about him was that he was a good guy,

Not anymore.

Leaving his personal life out of this, the idea that he actually told a security guard to get rid of someone who uttered the word embarrassing to him and actually stared the fan down while trying to be a tough guy, is just the icing on the cake. I get it, in the heat of the moment, directly after a tough game, you might not be in the best mood, but it didn’t stop there. He had time to shower and use time during his post game presser and actually went after the guy again; doubling down on his mistake. And add to the fact the organization obliged their pampered “star” quarterback, it speaks volumes of the culture rot imbued at The Star.

The whole team is full of bums, thugs, losers and quitters.
Post of the decade, no, of three decades.
