right now, he may move up after this next pro day, but then again, the pundits may look at him the same way they looked at Emmitt in 1990.

His name is Darius Walker, IMO is the complete package at RB, coming out of college.

He blocks well, catches well, he is patient, when running the ball, he sets up his blocks, he runs effective between the tackles, he can help run out the clock, he can carry the rock 20 plus carries.

He has football speed, meaning he can get to the edge if he needs to, and he can get the tough yards.

I too think Darius Walker is being undervalued. It is probably popular right now to pile on him because his combine numbers aren't hot and isn't getting much hype. Some team is going to get good value when they pick him.

I'm not kidding and I'm not joking. This kid is the best RB in the draft, he will be a steal for someone, I believe he will be a Cowboy, if we trade Julius.

I agree that he will be a valuable mid round pick for a team, but to say that he is the best in the draft is wrong.

And with so many other draft needs, this is really pie in the sky.
If a player like that comes in the latter rounds, grab him. But not before CB, Safety, QB, or O line.

Did any of you watch Walker??? I don't think there's much of a market for small RBs with bad speed. He was horrible at ND, though he did catch the ball well coming out of the backfield. I don't think he's a good pick anywhere, and don't think he's being undervalued at all. I know a lot of ND fans that were glad to see him leave early.

I'm a ND fan and I'm sorry but Walker is nothing special. He may make a team and be a solid backup, but he's not as good as either of our top two backs.

Pass.

Wow. Just wow.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Best RB in the draft? Someone has smoked too much of ... something ... and it's fried his brain.

He wasn't horrible at Notre Dame by any stretch, but he won't compete at a high level in the NFL. He's about like his QB counterpart -- a 3rd/4th round journeyman pick.

I saw virtually every game he played at ND. He is a good, solid RB. Has decent moves but doesn't have the breakaway speed you would like to see in a NFL back. I would say mid-3rd round would be the earliest to see him drafted.

Horrible might be a strong word, but he wasn't as productive as he needed to be, and watching a lot of ND games they struggled to move the ball on the ground and it really made the offense one dimensional. Charlie never gave up on the ground game too often though, so it would lead to some pretty frustrating series. His overall numbers are decieving for last year, where as the only good defense he had any sucess against was LSU, and we all know how that game turned out. At this point, I wouldn't invest more than a 6th or 7th on him, and only for depth purposes.

What? He was productive. He was more productive than our own Julius Jones, in fact. His production was surprising given his lack of speed, and I was consistently amazed at his ability to produce in "clutch" situations.

his 2006 numbers aren't very impressive when you break it down game by game.

I won't go over it all, but just look what he did in the losses to USC and U of M, and the near losses to MSU and UCLA. Those stats are padded against Stanford, Army, and Air Force, and a Purdue defense that wasn't very impressive either.
