this maybe to soon to post this with all the knee jerk reactions going on but...

romo had time to throw and took sacks instead of forcing a pass. this is what you all asked for is for him to stop making mistakes. personally i think he has got to where he is today making those mistakes and taking those chances. i want him to get back to playing like him self.

he has never been the best pocket passer, where he excels is getting out of the pocket, making plays with his legs, and having his receivers breaking off routes and finding the open zones. throwing ints come with that type of play but damn it so do TDs so I'm cool with the mistakes, Ive had all i can take of this scared guy second guessing himself and not pulling the trigger. he most likely got our #1WR a cracked rib because of it today.

most of you asked for this guy... and now i see you bashing him still, and saying he sucks no matter what. well he got to 29-13 one way and he got the 14th loss the way you asked him to play, so you might go look at yourself for thinking this is what you wanted.

get your swagger back tony and quit listening to the haters, play your game, you win way more than you lose when you do that. i for one will take your bad games if you keep giving me more good ones than bad. keep trying to fit throws in tight windows...you have been more successful at it than unsuccessful. bottom line I'll take the confident gunslinger back thank you.

I tend to agree but you hope he can find something in the middle over the next several weeks.

There is no doubt in my mind he is trying really hard to not make mistakes and playing scared.

He is struggling right now to find his game because his game was slinging and now he is in noman's land.

Wow, don't you think Mike Nolan and Brian Dawkins KNOW that? of course they do. Jeez guys, think a little. He isn't allowed to get out of the pocket anymore. The Giants and Eagles have let everyone know how to contain him: he's a one trick pony that's been exposed. Keep him in the pocket and make him beat you : he can't because he's VERY inaccurate and he has NO feel for the pass rush so he's a turnover: that's right Turnover Tony, waiting to happen.....get use to it: been going on a long time..........

Romo was fine in the pocket in 2006 when he was throwing to the likes of Terry Glenn. Yeah, remember him? TO and Crayton was what he should be a #3 slot receiver. What most people wanted was Miles Austin as the #2 receiver. How is Miles working out for you?

Man we need a permanent romo excuses thread.

I'll have gotten what I asked for when he just wins consistently and plays well consistently from week to week. I don't remember asking for him to throw like crap.

yeah no doubt he has to make those throws and get them down. but you can just see he isnt comfortable in the pocket and it had nothing to do with pressure, you could almost see him see a receiver and want to throw it and then think 'no not open enough' and try to wait for someone wide open which just isnt gonna happen

Listen I for one hate when Tony throws an Int I didn't like when he seemed like it wasn't a big deal we lost so badly to Philly last year but watching Tony the past 2 wks after the Ny game I notice that he doesn't look like he's having as much fun playing football since that game. I mean one thing I loved about Tony was that he has so much fun playing and that he brings his cool calm care free swagger to the field when he plays but I don't see that Tony anymore I see a qb who just looks like he's thinking way too much in the pocket. I could be wrong and everyone else could be right the team is only going to win another 2 or 3 games and Kitna will be starting soon or whatever I'm just curious if anyone has noticed the same thing....maybe everyone finally got to him

People asked him to play this way because it made TO the reason this offense sucked... Now Romo is playing the way 'Garrett' supposedly wanted to play and Romo is healthy and playing worse ball than ever when healthy...

I don't think fan or media criticism coerced Romo to stay in the pocket. Read what opponents have said the last few years and you'll see several quotes about the importance of keeping Romo in the pocket. Somebody from the Giants said it a few months before the season started.

Also, McNabb did the same thing after his first few years. I think it's just natural for a QB to try and become more of a "pocket passer." Coaching probably pushes them in that direction too; after all, how can coaches plan improvisation? They may also get tired of all the whacks they get.

Bottom line is those other teams also get paid a lot on Sunday, and if they see that a QB is less comfortable in the pocket than out, they're going to try to keep him there. It's up to Romo and the coaches to adjust.

he has been one of the best in the league at 'feeling' the pass rush so you are way off there, and he could have gotten out of the pocket many times but you could tell he just didn't want to for fear of making a mistake.

he has won consistently 29-14 is tops in the league man. as for making plays consistently you prolly wont get that but like i said ill take his bad games with his good as long as he is playing like we know him to play. i don't want the bus driver scared to make a mistake today. the best play he had today was what? 3rd and 3 with the game on the line and his instincts took over and got out of the pocket and made a play that put us in position to tie the game. i want that guy back.

Im hating what has become of Romo. Ive noticed he is playing timid, afraid to make a mistake- and yet he still made them.

You can only hope he snaps out of the funk, or he may be benched.

i think the old romo would have givin the WRs we do have a chance to make a play...we cant know how good the WR is if romo is scared to throw to him.

I agree, but really it's beginning to be plainly obvious that he's just not a good starting QB. Think back to his terrible play late in the season the past 3 years. He really is better suited to being a good backup QB. Come off the bench and make some plays. He just isn't consistent enough to be a starter.

But back to your point, I hate the careless play but he's playing like a guy that's overcoached now.

You will never coach him to be an Aikman like player. You gotta just let him be himself and try and work within that framework. Take the bad with the good.

I recall the Steelers OC saying that he decided to let Ben Rothlisberger be Ben and not try and make him a different QB than what he is. He said he tried to do that to another QB earlier in his career and he knows he ruined that QB and he wasn't going to make that same mistake with Ben.

Tony needs to be who he is.

I thought it was rediculous to change him.

You live with the good and live with the bad...just like # 4.

The play on 4th and 3 proved it all.

That's why Holmgren will get the best out of him next year!!!

Hey man I know very well romo is not going anywhere. For that reason alone I want him to succeed and do well(besides the fact that he's a cowboy). But people are saying they saw a different romo today. One that is scared to make a mistake etc.., but I saw the same romo as I always see when has a bad game. Just romo having a bad game. No more no less. I am not saying I have given up on him, all I'm saying is nothing was unique about his bad play today. imo.
