This season was a failure

I don't care about the NFC East title, 13 wins, or the first seed in the playoffs. We had to have post-season success for this to be a good year. To lose our first playoff game against a team we beat twice in the regular season invalidates the entire season in my mind. This year was a failure.

But we were 13-3! and the last month didn't matter - according to some on here.

If we went 16-0 it'd be pointless if we went one and done. But hey, maybe they give out trophies for homefield advantage. :bang2:

If it was a success, than I'd rather have the Giants failure...

It wasn't a failure, but it certainly ended in a huge disappointment. Our offense cost us this game, IMO. The defense did enough to win. It actually played pretty well outside of the catch and run by Toomer and that drive before the half. Other than that, they played pretty well.

Every season that doesn't end with a Lombardi trophy is a failure.

This is very similar to '98!:(

This season was a big time failure considering ending the season not playing good football... Then losing THE FIRST time out in the playoffs at HOME!

The team played great for 3 months and then struggled and then choked.

Losing in the Super Bowl is a big disappointment.

Having homefield in the playoffs and going one and done is a major failure.

then the season was a failure for every other team no longer playing, right? when we sneak in the playoffs we cry out how records don't matter. when we have a good one, suddenly they do.

any bullet you can make fit, i suppose.

emotional insurance. makes people say a lot of crazy talk. in the end we lost. we knew going in we had some holes to fill and we hoped players like julius for 2 jones would have done more.

garrett went from genious to being fired.

wade's style sucks all over again.

but like TO said, all across the board this is what the team did.

new head coach, new OC, new DC...we started off too good and it gave many fans a high horse to fall off of. maybe it did for the team also.

i have every faith in romo and this team to keep going and continue to improve. we lack balance and our OL needs more love to be truly dominate. a few tweaks and some rational (ie, not to be had any time soon by any of us) thought and we'll see what we need to do.

the year, however, is not a failure. i had too much fun on this ride to blow it all away in a moment of disappointment. this team still has a lot to prove and do and they will.

If we improve next year and start winning in playoff then THIS season WASNT a failure. It was a stepping stone... a gradual improvement.

Playoffs last year via WC.
Playoffs this year via NFC crown and 1st round bye.
Next year?

Yup - Thats how I feel - Watching Romo throw the last second int was like watching Emmitt get stuffed in the red zone against Carolina in '98. Thats all she wrote, and the magical season you thought you lost will be forever forgotten. Twenty years from now, no one will remember the year Romo & Co went 13-3.

That's the reality of the situation. It sucks that our season ended today, but I'd be lying if I thought we were actually going to go to the Super Bowl and win it.

The Patriots are just too good... the Lombardi will be theirs.

Yes! I believe so too!!!

No, I don't view it was a Failure, Disappointing Ending, sure, But we have come back to the forefront of the NFL. The future looks bright.

b-b-b-but we were 13-3!

we still are.

your point of it? does it make you feel better to whip that out? if you were one of the whiners during that run that people who only wanted to enjoy the season got tired of hearing - does this loss hurt less because you "emotionall insured" yourself?

we still are 13-3. we still had a great year. yes it ended in disappointment but every year it does that to all but 1 team. makes a lot of naysayers right, i suppose. to say WE'RE GONNA LOSE!!! but it doesn't make you right when it happens.

some people just need to finish the beer and chill out some.

The team peaked in November and more or less sputtered
into the playoffs.I fear the up coming draft and who is deciding
the draft choices might begin the Dave Campo 2 era with Wade
running this team in the future.

Dallas Cowboys = Dallas Mavericks

Great during the season, but "one and done" in the playoffs. What a disgrace!!!
