Except for Dak getting hurt again. A more quieter off season than we normally have with free agency. Not really trying to replace the talent that we lost. I truly believe it was the plan all along for McCarthy to fail to give the front office a legitimate reason to fire him which opens the door for them to bring in Payton publicly because I believe there is already a secret agreement in place between he and Jerry. Look for Moore to be gone as well as the rest of the coaching staff with possibly Quinn being retained providing he don't get a HC gig somewhere so Payton can bring in his own staff.

You're giving the Jones boys too much credit, and think too highly of a coach whose resume' looks a lot like Mike McCarthy's.

These knuckleheads thought what they are doing would work. Do you really think an 80 year old man is intentionally flushing a season for a dream? You're kidding yourself for the sake of hope. There's no plan. These bozos are doing the best they can, and they've won 3 playoff games in 26 years.

Exactly!

I love how people come up with these grand mastermind plans to try to understand the moves Jerry and his idiot boy make.

I guess facing the reality that neither of these idiots have a clue what they are doing is too unpleasant.

There is no masterplan. These two clowns have been bumbling going on three decades. Stop believing in them, just enjoy the show, and you'll be happier. Forget about Super Bowls.

I can't wait to see the reaction if Payton comes here though. A guy most here enthusiastically said goodbye to when he left and someone who returns not even slightly more successful than the head coach we have now.
That just goes to show you the coaches are not the problem. I remember people wanting Sean out. I remember people wanting Zimmer out.

Been saying this all day but no players or coaches can overcome this toxic, inbred, dysfunctional organization.

The rub here is MM is HC but the meat of his prior success is under his offense. Not the case here in Dallas. I’m not one to make excuses for anybody - he accepted the terms, after all - but I don’t know that we can do a comparison between the two here with that fact in play.

Of course, this crazy setup goes back to the top. JJ proving he has a boy wonder who in reality is still in training. KM has no feel for play calling. This game past shows he has not grown in this area which means he probably never will. No rhythm or plan. Just Madden calls off the play sheet.

I don't think Jerry needs to be so duplicitous as to sabotage the team in order to fire and hire a coach. I think he would just sit Mike down and tell him he is gone after the season. As far as I know the NFL is not yet an episode of General Hospital. But at times it could pass for a man soap.

You trust our FO too much.

There is no "design" of anything. Because that would assume that JJ and his sun are capable to plan mid- and longterm.

But they are not.

This all happens because they are clueless and so arent able to prepare properly.

Jerry could have fired McCarthy in the off-season. Nothing was stopping them. Imo they wanted Dak to prove his worth.

The problem is the “no-trade” clause after they could have tagged him once again, coming off a huge injury.

It’s just easier to admit they are clueless.

Ron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Manalive, we have missed you!!! Glad to see you around!!!!!

Everything in the preseason screamed that this is a tank season. Jerry wants to dump EZ and some others, maybe even Dak, but needs an excuse to do so.
Yea I had to have another heart operation so it's been a long slow process. Yea it's safe to say Zeke is gone and possibly Dak. I think next years team will look vastly different.

Lol they’ll just hire Dan Quinn.

They won’t give Payton the money other teams will.
Sean would want final say on all football decisions. Jerry won't do that in my opinion, unless his money is at risk.

For better or worse Dak isn't going anywhere until 2024 at the earliest. If we were to get rid of him after this season he would count a bajillion dollars against the cap.

...Ya know I'm not so sold on the "get rid of McCarthy and the bring in HC Payton thingy!"...I mean yeah Sean is a great coach, but like McCarthy, He only won a single SB with an
"elite" QB....I'll stick with McC and call it a wash!

If that were really the case it should have already been done IMO. Why wait? He quit and you could have hired him than.

Maybe so Jerry can entice him with a top 5 pick. But why would Payton even want to work for Jerry the Clown, or his even dumber, penny-pinching son? Sean wouldn't be happy just being a walk-a-bout HC like every other coach here.

Bless you. Sure hope you can find health and peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It could always be a major clusterfudge w/ Jerry, one never knows, but it sure appears as if they're tearing it down to rebuild.

No, this isn't by design. It's a combination of ownership thinking they are smarter than everyone else, and frankly just being cheap.
