I posted a thread last week and it was ignored, a thread containing a thought of what was the point of paying a QB 260M for this result (3-5). At this point we would have been better off playing Trey Lance and tanking for the #1 pick. Every week, this thread will become more and more realistic and you guys wont be able to run away from this reality.

The real reality is though, someone who is a prominent business man in America paid for this product to be put on the field, specifically 260M worth of his own dime. Let him suffer the consequences now and relish he is definetly having buyers remorse behind closed doors and slamming the bottle over his idiocic decision.

It seems now, still in these press conferences he is delusional enough to let himself believe we still have a chance. A division loss and another primetime gashing by a state rival will change that tune real quick,

Jerry and Stephen really believe deep down that this is a good roster that is being held back by coaching.

Its why you see the staff trotting out the same bums week after week. Terrence Steal and Donovan Wilson shouldve been benched weeks ago but here we are. They are that delusional.

As some have mentioned, I am starting to think this is part of a bigger plan for 2025. We are right where Jerry expected us to be: third or last in the division. You can't convince me someone in his circle of advisers didn't warn him we would take a step back within the division. The goal this season was simple.......sign Dak and Lamb and save as much cap space as possible for Parsons and 2025 next coach. He hung MM out to dry with little or no chance of a successful season. One might ask, why not just fire him hire your long-term coach? This is where he is cheap coz it would have meant paying off MM and a bunch of assistant coaches, he did the same thing to Garrett.

In fact, I would go as far as saying Jerry already has a good idea who his next coach will be, but he will go through the conventional process.

Jerry will hire another old guy that's seen better days and it ain't Zimmer. Zim is a bridge to the next guy and I think he was likely told this when we hired him . He did Jerry a solid. Nothing more. The joke is on us, the fans. Bill belichick will be the next HC, then we will see the usual suspects on YT, all the DC content creators selling it as awesome. Jerry won't make sweeping changes because it's an indictment of his poor decisions. We are getting the same players next year. He thinks it's a great roster and don't be shocked when Zeke is here next year too.

All in meant all in on the coaching staff. Also, it meant no changes to the roster. It was Jerry putting the metaphorical gun to big Mikes head to produce and get this team over the hump. He was set up to take a fall. That said, the coaching has been stagnant. Roster, STAGNANT, and we relied on rookies to step in and be all world. What could go wrong, right? Lol... This is why Jerry continues to double and triple down on this is a good roster . It's SO obvious this is willful tanking so Jerry can have a fall guy. Takes the honus off of him and placed it elsewhere. He's got no aspirations of getting this team to another SB and why should he? They gave him the gold jacket, and that only confirms to him, that he can do no wrong. It feeds the beast. It's also our undoing. This organization is nothing more than a time capsule, a museum of sorts, of what we once were, but now just a tourist attraction. Jerry is more than willing to sell tickets and merch to the circus, as long as the profits are good.Winning on the field be damned. He's winning in his bank account.

I don't believe for one second they believed in this team. They simply put the honus on the staff and put them in a terrible position. No staff can win it all with this version of our team. Maybe a win or two more but that's it. Nothing tangible. They had to know exactly what they were doing internally. And this, the staff isn't very good honestly. Neither are our players. It's a miracle we have 3 wins so far.

IDK Willie .........Jerry and Stephen are a lot smarter than many here want to admit. I think the problem for fans and media is we don't have access to their future map or long-term plan. In other words, these are billionaires with 25+ years in the league. They have the ears of all/any expert advisers they choose to use or listen to. Tell me Jerry can't pick up the phone and seek the advice of Parcell, Jimmy Johnson, Belichick, Mike Shanahan, and Brugler ( draft expert ) on any given day. He knew this was going to be a bad season on the field but he was determined to extend Dak rather than starting over with another QB.

Let me ask you this.........what advice do you think Parcell, Belichick and Jimmy gave Jerry IF he spoke with them about winning a Super Bowl with Dak. My guess is similar to what Jimmy has already said......you can but he needs enough talent around him. He's not going to carry your team.

Any decent QB has to have the right talent to win. Jerry and son decided last off-season after the GB debacle that the roster and staff was gone. But they never told them . They are just letting it implode organically under its own weight. I highly doubt Jimmy told Jerry to do this. He's letting them run out of contract. Simple. Then he pretends after a loss, that he's got full faith in this bad team. He's a liar.

Some of you in this post are giving Jerry far too much credit for having a plan, especially one for the future. We have seen nothing over the past 30 years that indicates Jerry is forward thinking. If you have an example, I'm all ears (eyes?).

Nobody to blame, but ourselves. We support the Cowboys no matter what. After 60 years, I live in New England. I didn’t like Brady. I’m going to be a patriots fan. Screw the Cowboys , I’ll still watch, but when Jerry leaves, I’ll come back

Jerry had no plan except that he was pissed after the GB playoff loss. So he and Stephen decided to basically give no further help to the staff. Now he's sitting back letting things crumble and he's doing his aw shucks routine. If we lose again this coming week, MM will be canned in season. It's what he wanted all along. Takes the focus off of his terrible management.

There are a lot of people who agree with you. Its just being drowned out in the daily talks.

The Cowboys intentionally took a step back this year. You don't shed that many good players and think you are better for it. Dak is only on a 4 year deal. Like him or not, I have no idea why you sign him to that when you know at least 2 are going to be wasted.

That was awesome what the Patriots did for the Dodgers after the world series. One gigantic slap in the face of the Yankees, all thanks to the Red Sox.

There was never any plan to trash this season for next. The Jones family firmly believed this roster would compete for the NFC East and once in the play offs who knows? Maybe now they are starting to realise this is a poor team and to save face are now looking at trading for players. A totally illogical move.

I think they would just now settle for a winning record after week 18.

There is no long term plan to put Belichick in charge. Nothing going on behind the scenes etc.

My guess is because of the investment in Dak they will make it a priority to find someone who they think can 'reboot' him. It will of course be someone they can 'work with'. Forget Vrabel, Forget Belichick.

A complete mess!

Jerry might be delusional but he is no dummy. He was ticked after what GB did to us last year. He's allowing things to play out.

This^^^^^ and expect your lame-duck coach to have a better season than three straight 12-5 seasons? C'mon......as some have mentioned, its a soft rebuild. 2025 will have a new coach and high draft picks......

I'm not sure many here remember one regret Jerry has often mentioned regarding Romo's career ...........he wishes we had won a Super Bowl for him.
I honestly think this is the same mindset with Dak and he's taking one last shot at it.

I read that and immediately thought, "That can't be right. Members do not ignore Dak Prescott threads. That is NOT possible. Heck. We mention him in threads that do not have anything to DO with him."

Then I checked (link).

Mind. Blown.

Finally caught up? They will let another 10 guys go want to know who? Wilson Osa dlaw Martin hooker cooks lewis mazi schoonmaker clarke, draft high, trade down. They are trying to recreate the jimmy days. Notice how jimmy was on the advisory board last year? After last year jerry decided our team couldnt do it. New coaching staff coming also.

I have to wonder what Jimmy said. I tend to believe that there is a method to their madness but honestly it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't have a plan and went about business as usual.
