IDK Willie .........Jerry and Stephen are a lot smarter than many here want to admit. I think the problem for fans and media is we don't have access to their future map or long-term plan. In other words, these are billionaires with 25+ years in the league. They have the ears of all/any expert advisers they choose to use or listen to. Tell me Jerry can't pick up the phone and seek the advice of Parcell, Jimmy Johnson, Belichick, Mike Shanahan, and Brugler ( draft expert ) on any given day. He knew this was going to be a bad season on the field but he was determined to extend Dak rather than starting over with another QB.

Let me ask you this.........what advice do you think Parcell, Belichick and Jimmy gave Jerry IF he spoke with them about winning a Super Bowl with Dak. My guess is similar to what Jimmy has already said......you can but he needs enough talent around him. He's not going to carry your team.
Jerry isnt doing this but if he did they wouldve been told him to can McCarthy. None of them believe this is a well-coached team.

You think Bill Parcells or Jimmy would co-sign this idiot flying his helicopter on the practice field?

Their “plan” all along was to pay Dak, Ceedee, and Micah and since they are being paid at the top of the market, they gotta go cheap everywhere else and Dak has to do more with less

Then why extend Dak?

I knew this team was going to take a step back!

Extending Dak just made the rebuild so much more difficult.

That decision just baffles my mind!

I have to wonder what Jimmy said. I tend to believe that there is a method to their madness but honestly it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't have a plan and went about business as usual.
As many picks as you can get imo. rt rg rb wr nt de ilb S. We will need starters from the draft at all those positions. If we r lucky it will take 2 years.

Jerry is a crap owner and him and his crap kid have no idea how to build a football team. They both seriously thought they had a real chance, they always do. That delusion is very real even at this very moment when they still think they have a shot. A stupid, overcompensating trade is on the way, you can bet on it.

As some have mentioned, I am starting to think this is part of a bigger plan for 2025. We are right where Jerry expected us to be: third or last in the division. You can't convince me someone in his circle of advisers didn't warn him we would take a step back within the division. The goal this season was simple.......sign Dak and Lamb and save as much cap space as possible for Parsons and 2025 next coach. He hung MM out to dry with little or no chance of a successful season. One might ask, why not just fire him hire your long-term coach? This is where he is cheap coz it would have meant paying off MM and a bunch of assistant coaches, he did the same thing to Garrett.

In fact, I would go as far as saying Jerry already has a good idea who his next coach will be, but he will go through the conventional process.
If that's the plan, you're still left with a very questionable roster, regardless of who the coach will be in 2025. If they dont participate in free agency, where will the improvement come from?

Thats a lot of holes to fill by a staff that gambles early. At some point they have to fill roster holes with a few decent free agents.

It’s funny, people still think there’s some master plan in place?

Drafting top 5-10.......perhaps trading down a bit gives you a chance to find 4-5 young starters. We have some good players ...... solid coaching and a couple more playmakers can turn this thing around IMO. Imagine the difference Barkley or Henry would have had on our offense and that just one player.

They could have signed Lamb and Dak in April if that was the intention all along. They sat on their hands in FA making the fans think they were moving on only to pay them each record setting contracts.

They could have done this in APRIL. Then signed Henry, Baktari (i know its spelled wrong), and some defensive help. This FO told the fan base and players, they dont care about winning.

When Jerry made his all-in comment, he literally said "he didnt know where they were cap wise". That is the freaking GM. Then to add insult to injury, he said they couldnt afford Henry when they could have. They just quite literally dont know what they are doing right? Wrong. Their mission is MONEY. Want proof? Jerry said "this team is in the upper echelon when it comes to ratings, jersey sales, and revenue."

Those words came out of the GM's mouth. In their mind. They are winning.

Don't think Jimmy told JJ to do this. No way no how. Jerry might have asked him, but that's all. Jimmy is the kind of guy that is highly competitive by nature. Loves the cowboys. I think this is ALL Jerry and son. Don't forget how long Jerry held a grudge on Jimmy. This might be his way of getting back at MM for green Bay. Just letting things play out, not bettering the team in the process. Think like Jerry, and look at his history, you will find the answer.

Jerry loves you. Where have you been the last 30 years?

I do ...... Jerry treated this past offseason like none we have seen before. That doesn't happen without a plan IMO. Let's not forget, Dak's $59M cap hit and 2025 free-agency. I mean you think these decisions were made w/o a plan????

Jerry signed Dak because it was the PC thing to do. He knows Dak isn’t worth the money strictly as a player.

There may be a plan but the plan will never be one geared towards winning a SB when the GM is incompetent.

1000% there is no plan here. This is a dumb front office and what happened this offseason is nothing more than the domino effect of stupidity. Like the Lance trade for example. Cant sign a FA while you have the highest paid 3rd QB in football occupying a roster spot. It doesn’t magically get better from here.

Lol Jerry has been getting advice for close to 30 years and it’s the same result. You can’t drink the kool-aid
