I was just thinking (dangerous, I know, I should quit trying), and I don't understand how teams are going to be able to stop us this year.

On any given play, we'll have a combination of the following skill position players on the field:

Witten
Bennett
Jones
Barber
Choice
Williams
Austin
Crayton
Bryant
Ogletree

I can't think of a team with a defense deep enough to stop our offense.

Except ours.

That's the scary part. Our defense is better than our offense, and teams can't stop our offense.

Vikings defense seemed to know how to stop us. :(

But I get your point. We will see week 6

Eagles 44-6, And then what happened the next year?

All fans seem to inflate the abilities of their own team. The league is LOADED with players.

But with Tony at the helm we've got a top 10 assembly of talent. Any scout or critic would agree with that.

A lot will come down to the play of the offensive line. If you get badly whipped up front it sometimes doesn't matter how talented your playmakers are.

Future already knows the answer....just read my sig. He said it all.

But there is only one football. It is important that we get our offensive stars in synch early on and consistently: Romo to Austin, Witten, Felix. Early and often. To give these tremendous talents fewer touches because there is other talent does not make sense.

Use our offensive powers and use them often.

rule of thumb.

never say I dont know how anyone will stop us because you might find out quickly.

I know how to stop this offense like everyone else does, blitz and hit the qb repeatedly. Its the tried and true method and the better teams in the nfc are more than capable of doing it.

Just look at our own division, all three teams will play good defense against us.

I am sure they are saying the same thing in new orleans, green bay, minnesota, philly. I also happen to think the giants will play very well on offense, and I think there defense will be very good also.

The Jets can. Pending Revis of course.

No one could stop the 2007 Patriots either. 589 points. Most in NFL history.

Then the Giants got hot and stopped them cold when it mattered most.

You forgot to mention the 3 names
Gurorde, Davis, Colombo

These are the 3 names which are going to be key in making sure Romo has time to deliver ball to the above mentioned group. ( I think Kosier and Free are OK )

I have been maintaining for the last 3 years , our O-L is the key for post season success.

So lets wait and see !:(

I see what you're saying and I like where your head is at, but our own playcalling could hurt us. I think the defense is fine; Wade is a very good DC and we have talent and depth. But the offense. However, Red is, at times, too creative for his own good.

As long as we can protect romo and manage to cut down on turnovers i think the cowboys will be okay

At this point its not really about the talent. Its about the heart and killer instinct. This team is as talented as the championship teams. Will they have the accountability, drive, will, and heart of those teams? Will Romo yell at the OL like Aikman did? Will Austin rally the troops like Irvin did? Will someone rise up and take control of the 4th quarters like Emmitt did?

These are the biggest variables about this team.

The Bengals held that offense to 3 points after 1st and goal from the 2.

That offense will now be without its jack-of-all-trades TE for the rest of the season.

The only way this offense becomes unstoppable will be when Bryant becomes unstoppable.

I am going to bet this sentiment was talked about last summer as well.

And we scored 7 points against the Commanders at home.

10 in Denver.

7 in Green Bay.

This offense was far from a juggernaut last season and just because we added Dez doesn't mean we are going to score 49 points a game.

The talent is there. The execution has to be better in a lot of areas.

Ummm...

34-3 to the Vikings.

I Lol'ed (and cried).

We've been Super Bowl champs on paper for a few years now. We aren't lacking players or playmakers, we are lacking execution and playcalling.

Every year is different. 44-6 meant NOTHING in '09 as we beat that team 3x including a shutout and a playoff beatdown. Our OL was injured and the Vikings were almost unstoppable at home (9-0). This is a new year and Dallas seems more mature, focused, and talented than at any time in recent history. If the OL does their job and the key players stay healthy, the sky is the limit - regardless of that one game last year.

Right now we are stoppable, as most teams are. I think our playmakers/ skill position guys are superior to anything else in the league though. Its all going to be on our offensive line. But I tell you this, and you can chisel it in stone too.........If we make EVEN MORE of a commitment to the running game this year, we will be as close to unstoppable as you can get in this league. We get that run game going, where we are just POUNDING a defense, slowly wearing them down over the course of a game and its lights out for our opponents. Get that time of possession up to around 34 minutes a game, wear em down to a bloody nub, and the big plays will come.

They wouldn't be able to stop our offense. Expect the same bend but don't break defense. Alan Ball isn't be that much of a difference for us to be dominate and I think Orlando Scandrick is a liability too. He gives up way to many easy catches, especially on third down. Seems to me to be a better outside player.
