Right now. He poses no threat right now. Dak's going to start this season, and Lance will play in the event of injury. However, erase that period. Things can change in the NFL. In Washington, Kirk Cousins was originally no threat to RG3, but that changed. When we drafted Dak in the 4th round, he was no threat to Romo, but that changed.
Looks like they have a plan to replace Dak.

To ensure there's no threat, you'll see the Cowboys magically lock up Dak to an extension making him 50+ a season!

I wouldn’t let Dak’s huge cap number next year force me to do anything I’m not comfortable doing.

There are plenty of other contracts to rework and restructure if they need to.

I also read that his 2024 base salary has no guarantees as well.

Point being that I’m not rushing to restructure or extend him unless he has a great 2023. And I’m not going to have a big 2024 cap hit force me into anything.
I agree and I wasn’t saying they should do that but I’m sure it’s factoring into their thought process here…tl just give them another potential path if dak is bad this year…I do like the forward thinking and options vs being forced down one path

I have to wonder how many people see the draft slot Lynch was taken in and think this is a great day.

Two years and the 9ers couldn't coach him up. Now people are claiming he will need another two years. That isn't the way this league works. Not now.

When you think about Brock Purdy was the heir apparent and Lynch couldn't be supplanted by the guy Dallas just acquired, that should tell the tale on Lance. And Purdy was a product of a terrific team around him.

Ohhhhh, he can run the ball. So now the running back position is close to worthless and Dallas traded for a QB/RB. When they say this is a copy cat league, Jerry watches Hurts and thinks he needs one. He ignores building a team from top to bottom and having one of the best offensive lines in the game.

And Jimmy Johnson still isn't in the Ring.

Shocker the examples you use...not.

The only leadership Dak can pass on is how to sell mattresses....and this season Dak's future will go to the mattresses.
Remember the story of the QB whom had everything Draft pedigree, Great Coaching, Great Front Office and Great Supporting Cast earned the right to be the next Dak Hate Fantasy after losing starting job to Mr. Irrelevant and another bust...

Yes realistic fans are Dak Fanatics....:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Like I've used the same energy!!!

Dak Haters are Worthless Fantasy Scribes :muttley::muttley:

Give Lance a Chance to Dance :dance::dance:

Ps. I Love Trey Lance!!

Interesting take seeing as how Dak has been surrounded constantly and he has won.....what exactly? Oh right, he won money as that is all Dak is focused on winning.

He’s going to be our starter.
Let’s put it this way. If Lance practices well this season and is plays well in preseason next year. Would the Joneses rather sign a 24 year old Lance to let’s say a 3 year 90 million extension low guaranteed contract or sign Dak to one of the biggest contracts in NFL history at age 31. Even if Dak lights it up this season and they make it to an NFC championship game. The Cowboys would still have to pause.

I already tried the faster comment, he ran a 4.9 dak ran something better lol (I hear you!!!)
When did he run a 4.9. I read he ran a 4.5. Oh well Dak is slow as molasses now. You can see the way Lance runs in the preseason that he is faster then Dak.

GPS speed was 21.54 seconds. I saw the 40 time on the draft buzz web site. I wonder were they got the 40 time from. It was not from running the 40 at his pro day or a scouting combine.

He does not pose a threat unless Dak does not agree to a team friendly extension. Lance was a Jones family business decision in case Todd France play’s hardball. Dak actually now has threat on the sideline if he screws up. Lance is bigger, faster and stronger then Dak talent wise. There is a reason he was 3rd pick in the 2021 draft. Lance is like Jordan Love was for Rodgers and the Packers.
You're thinking outside the box. Something I could never do. This angle didn't even occur to me. This is one possible motive for the trade. I wouldn't put anything past Jerry.

Let’s be real if Dak plays well and takes Dallas to the Super Bowl he is not taking less than Borrow. If Dak plays well and gets us to the NFC championship game he not taking less then Herbert. Do the Joneses want to pay Dak at age 31 50 million a season when Parsons and CeeDee might ask for 30 million a season? When you can get Lance on low guaranteed extension if he practices well and learns your system.

It's Quincy Carter Part 2. I guess some just want to get rid of Dak so bad they don't care who we replace him with. Dak is sleeping very comfortable tonight.

I think this is just the prelude to the MAJOR blockbuster acquisition that's coming....that's REALLY going to serve notice to Dak:

Tim Couch.
You’re close. My sources tell me that the Cowboys just got a huge shipment of purple drank, so you know what that means.

Oh are you surprised the Dak Hate cottage industry has concocted a new Fantasy.....what is more realistic

1. Cooper Rush Being Nick Foles

2. Trey Lance is Carson Wentz

:flagwave: :flagwave: :lmao:

Ps...both are Super Bowl winning QBs....Dak Hate generation have awful reference points
