I like this trade. Didn’t cost much to acquire a talented kid who is RAW but with upside.

But IMO this is both a hedge for the future and a developmental project. I seriously doubt we will see a ton of Trey Lance this year. Again this is about the future not right now. To me it’s a lot like getting a Sam Darnold, a guy who had huge upside but did not develop quickly enough for his original team. Lance is now a reclamation project, not a plug and play guy.

"The third quarterback can be placed on an inactive roster spot where he would not use a spot on the 53 player active roster. He may enter the game if the quarterbacks on the active roster are injured or disqualified."

This recent rule change is what will help Lance in that Cooper Rush can remain the #2 QB (and step in should Dak get injured again) while Lance gets acclimated to the system yet is still able to dress on game day. There is absolutely no pressure for Lance at all yet should he show promising development.......

Lol anyone who thinks this has any affect on Dak is crazy.

1. This only affects Grier immediately.
2. Trey still has to beat out rush for the #2 spot next year, by then Dak will already be extended.

When did he run a 4.9. I read he ran a 4.5. Oh well Dak is slow as molasses now. You can see the way Lance runs in the preseason that he is faster then Dak.
That's how I feel, but people on here feel because he ran a so called 4.9 that he's somehow slower than dak. I absolutely hate seeing dak on bootlegs etc

I think you may need to put that hope to rest, he poses NO threat to Dakota Prescott, PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coogs, you got that 100% correct. That dude couldn't even beat out a 7th rounder and the abysmal Darnold.

I believe some are kidding themselves here.

yeah, it hurts my stomach that we might lose dak and I and many other fans who think dak sucks will have nobody to critique. Dang and don't make fun of the new generation.

Great job for once. Dak needs some real pressure. Lance was a high pick, comes from a winning program and didn’t play much due to injury. This gives me hope I haven’t had since 2006
While Trey Lance won't even threaten Cooper Rush's job this year, you're right, it does rock the boat.

The NFL is always about "what have you done for me lately" and making a wild cat trade like this let's Dak and Cooper both know they are always looking to upgrade.

I don't think you should ever let a player be complacent. Jimmy was great at this. Aikman, the #1 pick, never felt like his career was stable until after he won a Super Bowl. LOL

Great thing too is Dak is a good leader and won't shun Trey Lance. He'll probably mentor him, which is great, because they have similar skill sets with Lance having the first round physical skills but just very little experience.

I like the trade. I think it's going to end up like Drew Henson, Chad Hutchinson, and the other Jerry wild cat trades, but it's the closest we'll probably get to a top 5 (draft talent) QB anytime soon.

Even if he doesn't win anything but still shows progress, we might flip that draft pick.

Free speech isn't allowed on this forum. I have over 20 benchings to prove it. Just stay politically correct and don't say anything the mainstream wouldn't say.
The algorithm here is interesting.... it censored the word C o w g I r l s when I was speaking about our beloved cheerleaders

I also have never been benched for insulting someone....it usually for commenting on posts like yours

Oh well.....see yall in 3 days

You couldn’t be further from the truth there’s no way Jerry Jones is paying Dak next year .
And get stuck with moe, Larry and curly?

Dak will be here

This has Ryan Leaf 2.0 written all over it
